A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION AUTHORIZING THE
ACCEPTANCE OF SECTION 8 HOUSING PROGRAM FUNDS, IN THE
PROJECTED AMOUNT OF $5,870,196.00 FOR RENTAL ASSISTANCE, AND
THE PROJECTED AMOUNT OF $547,012.00 FOR PROGRAM
ADMINISTRATION FOR A TOTAL PROJECTED AMOUNT OF $6,417,208.00
FOR FISCAL YEAR ("FY") 2025-2026 ANNUAL CONTRIBUTIONS FROM THE
UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT
("HUD"); AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE ANY AND ALL
NECESSARY DOCUMENTS, IN A FORM ACCEPTABLE TO THE CITY
ATTORNEY, SUBJECT TO ALL FEDERAL, STATE, AND LOCAL LAWS THAT
REGULATE THE USE OF SUCH FUNDS, TO IMPLEMENT THE ACCEPTANCE
OF THE ACTUAL AMOUNT OF SECTION 8 HOUSING PROGRAM FUNDS
WHEN MADE AVAILABLE.
WHEREAS, the City of Miami ("City") has three hundred fifty-six (356) units under;
Section 8 contracts; and 2 cn
WHEREAS, the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (+IUD")
has advised the City that the projected allocation for the Section 8 Housing Program forTiscal
Year ("FY") 2025-2026 is available in the amount of $5,870,196.00 for rental assistance.T1
payments and the projected amount of $547,012.00 for program administration, for a tofai
projected amount of $6,417,208.00; and
WHEREAS, the numbers stated herein are projections, City Administration may need to
adjust the numbers once released by HUD; and
WHEREAS, the City's Administration recommends the acceptance of Section 8 Funds
for FY 2025-2026 in the total estimated amount of $6,417,208.00
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are
adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. The acceptance of Section 8 Housing Program funds in the projected amount
of $5,870,196.00 for rental assistance and the projected amount of $547,012.00 for program
administration, for a total projected amount of $6,417,208.00 for FY:2025-2026, is authorized.'
Section 3. These allocations will be adjusted in direct proportion to the actual allocation
of Section 8 funds provided by HUD for the FY 2025-2026.

Section 4. The City Manager is authorized' to execute any and all necessary documents

Section 5. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption.

2 If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten (10) calendar days
from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective
immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
