HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-02412RESOLUTION NO. 41 ! A RESOLUTION MAKING PROVISION FOR THE SPECIAL BOND ELECTION TO BE HELD FEBRUARY 10, 1926. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COTATISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI: Section 1. That the Deputy Supervisors of Registration shall open the registration books for the special bond election to be held on the 10th day of February, 1926, from 10 o'clock A.M. until 5 o'clock P.M. on the 6th day of January, 1926, and each day thereafter (Sundays exoepted) until and including the afternoon of the 30th day of January, 1926, for the purpose of registering those persons who are not already registered and who are qualified to register for such election. Section 2. That the following persons are hereby appointed Inspectors and Clerks of said election for the several precincts in the City: Precinct Inspectors of Clerks of No. Election Election. 1. T. That the City Clerk and ex—offi©io Supervisor of Registration is hereby directed to publish in the 11emi Daily Herald and the Miami Daily News, newspapers published in the City of Miami, not lees than 5 days before the day the registration books will be open as above provided, and once each week therecfter until the date of said election, a notice of said election and registra• tion in substantially the following"form= NOTICE OF BOND ELECTION 'PURSUANT TO ORDINANCE NO. 579 PASSED DECEI.BER 28th, 1925• A special election will be held on the loth day of February, 1926, from 8 o'clock A.M. until sundown, at which election there will be submitted to the qualified electors who are freeholders of the City of Miami, the following nineteen questions: 1. Shall bonds of the City of I`iami not exceeding 0150,000 be issued for constructing an addition to the City Hospital and pur— chasing equipment therefor? 2. Shall bonds of the City of riami not exceeding 1600,000 be issued for extending, the City's water system, by laying additional pipe lines, constructing a new filter plant or making an addition to the present filter plant, constructing new storage tanks, install— ing pumps, drilling additional wells and acquiring land for the same? 3. Shall bonds of the City of Miami not exceeding 1350,000 be issued for extending the tracks and equipment of the street railway system? 4. Shall bonds of the City of ITiami not exceeding 1300,000 be issued for constructin` a bridge over the Miami River at or near Uorthvest 2nd ^treet? 5. Shall bonds of the City of laami not exceeding /50,000 be issued for installing additional fire hydrants and connections? 17. Shall bonds of the City of Miami not exceeding '445,000 be issued for erecting and equipping a building for the storage, re- pair and maintenance of municipal vehicles, equipment and supplies? 18. Shall bonds of the City of riami not exceeding l',200,000 be isued for constructing a sewage disposal works or plant? 19. Theregistration books will be open from 10:00 o'cloek A.17. until 5:00 o'clock P.!. on the 6th day of January, 1926, and each day thereafter (Sundays excepted) until and including the afternoon of -4- the 30th day of January, 1926, for the purpose of registering those persons who are qualified to register for such election and who have not already registered. All persons who registered for the special election held. on the and day of September, 1926, to vote upon the question whether the corporate limits of the City of Miami shall be extended, ere deemed registered electors of the City and need not re -register for such election.
