BISOLUTION AUTHORIZING AND DIREOTING THE 0I!Y MLNA-
GER TO NEGOTIATE WITH THE PROPER GOTIRIMEET 0llI0IAIi$
!OR THE PURPOSE OF OBTAINING PERMISSION TO BEE! OLOs-
ED THE ELLGLEB STREET, SOUTHWEST SEOOND AVENUE, AND
THE MIAMI AVENUE BRIDGES, CROSSING THE MIAMI RIVER IN
THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA.
WHEREAS, the traffio on Flagler Street, k*thwest 8eoond
Avenue and Miami Avenue between the hours of 7:30 and 9:30 A.
M., and from 4:30 to 6:30 P. M. is greatly congested sad pros -
tioally impossible to handle, and
WHBRFAS, if the bridges were kept closed during the hours
above mentioned, same would greatly facilitate the handling of
traffio, and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to obtain permission from the pro-
per government officials to keep closed the bridges during the
said hours,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Commissionof the Ci-
ty of Miami: That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, author-
ised and instructed to take all proper and neoeasary steps to
secure from the government officials permission and authority
to keep closed the following bridges in the City of Miami, Flori-
da: Flagler Street Bridge, Southwest Seoond Avenue Bridge and
the Miami Avenue Bridge, during thehoura of 7:30 and 9:30 A.M.
and during the hours of 4:30 and 6:30 P. M. on each and every
day.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 6th day of January, A. D. 1925.
