Section 1. That for municipal election purpose::, the
City of Miami is hereby divided into ten election precincts,
numb'ered 1 to 10, inclusive, and bounded and described as fol-
lows:
PRECINCT NO. 1: Commencing at a point in Biscayne Bay
where the present Easterly limits extended Northerly intersects
with a line 660 feet more or less North of the South line of
Section 28, Township 52 South, Range 42 East, produced East,

Section 2. That at all municipal elections hereafter held
in said City, there shUl be one voting plane in each election
precinct, and until otherwise provided by the City Commission,
by ordinance or resolution, the voting places in the several pre-
cincts of the City shall be as follows:

Sect . n 8% That the City Commission, note► 1eto than

inspectors of election and a clerk of election for each e2.ee-
tion precinct, and the City Commission shall cause the names
of etch inspectors and clerks of eleotion to be publishe& in
a newspaper published in the City at Least ten days before the
day of holding any municipal election.
Section 4. That the City Commission chall cause to be
prepared oneballot bolt for each votinc place, of sufficient size
to receive and contain all the ballots of the election precinct
for which it is intended, Li.id it shall be plainly marked or la-
beled with the number of the election precinct. nefor'e any pen-
eral or special election, the City Clerk shall place in each
ballot box twice as many official ballots as there are re-is-
tered electors in said precinct, and after securely lockin`
said box, shall deliver the key thereof to one of the inspec-
tors of said election precinct, together with the box.
Section 5. That all persons possessing the qualifica-
tions requisite for an elector in the City of Miami under the
Charter of said City and the laws of the State of Florida, shall
be entitled to register in the City registration books as in
this ordinance provided. No person shall be allowed to vote
in any municipal election held in the City of Miami unless he
has duly registered, and, if additional qualifications are re-
quired by the Charter of said City or the laws of the State of
»Florida to vote on the questionlof issuing bonds or any other
question, no elector, although registered, shall be allowed to
vote on such question unless he possesses such additional quali-
fications, Before voting on any such question, an elector, if
challenged or requested, by an inspector or a clerk or election,
shall take an oath or affirmation that he possesses the qual.ifi-

Section 7. That the City Clerk shallbe ex`officio : uper-
visor of Registration and he shall appoint one Deputy Supervisor
Of Registration for each election precinct, who shall be a quali-
fied elector within the precinct for which he is alipointed.
Section 8. That each Deputy Supervisor of Registration
shall open the registration boos for his precinct at least fif-
teen days prior to any election and shall keep said books open
between the hours of 2 o'clock P. r. and 5 o'clock r, `. in
each day thereafter (Sundays excepted, until and including the
afternoon of the tenth day before the election, at which time
said registration books shall be closed.
Section 9. That the Supervisor of Registration shall
publish in at least two newspapers printed in the City of Miami,
not less than five days before the day the registration books
will be open, a notice stating the days and hours the registra-
tion books will open, end the name of the Deputy supervisor of
Registration for each precinct, and the place therein at which
the registration books will be open.
Section 10. That all applicants for registration shall
be required to take and subscribe the following oath or affirma-
tion:

tration book for each election precinct in the City. each regis=

the proper headings, so ns to indicate the name, age, color and
place of residenee, including the street and number, df each e-
lector, with a separate column at the right of each line for such
other entries as may be necessary from time to time. The pages
of said books shall be alphabetically arranged and numbered.
Section 12. Upon the expiration of the time herein pro-
vided for the registration of electors, the registration books
shall be closed and no person shall be allowed to registervntil
the registration books are again opened in accordance with this
ordinance. Immediately upon the closing of the registration
books, eadh Deputy Supervisor of Registration shall promptly de-
liver the registration book of his precinct to the Cupervisor
of Registration at the City Hall.
Section 13. That at each election, whether general or
special, the Supervisor of Registration shall furnish the in-
spectors of election in each precinct the registration book for
such precinct, which book the said inspectors shall be responsible
for and shall return to the Supervisor of Registration within
two days after the election.
Section 14. That in case of the removal of an elector
fromkone election precinct to another election precinct in said
City, such elector shall notify the Deputy Supervisor of Regis-
tration of the precinct from which he removed, of such change of
residence, and eaid Deputy Supervisor of Registration shall there-
upon cancel the registration of such elector in his registration

Section 154 That the Supervisor of Registration shall be
the custodian of the registration book for each election precinct,
except during the time when the registration books shall be open
as herein provided. Whenever it shall come to the knowledge of
the Supervisor of Registration that any elector has died or be-
come disqu&lified to vote for any reason whatever, or the t his
right to vote has become affected in any way since his registration
it ;hall be the duty of the supervisor of T`tegistration to make a
note of such fact on the proper registration book o.;uoz i to the
name of such person, and to mark off the names of such per ,•ohs ac
have so ceased to be qualified electors by running a pen through
the names of such persons on such book:, and said supervisor of
Registration shall carefully note on stid bco:':v the date of such
erasure and the cause thereof, and in no case shall the inspectors
of election allow any person to vote whose name shall appear on the
books to have been there stricken off, unless he produces or ex-
hibits to such inspectors a certificate, signed by the Supervisor
of Registration or the Deputy Supervisor of Registration for that
precinct, setting forth that his name had been stricken off through
error.
Section 16. That all persons who registered for the special
election held on the 2nd day of Leptember, 192b,ta vote upon the
question whether the corporate limits of the City of Miami :hall
be extended so as to include the territory described in Section 1
of Ordinance No. 420, shall be deemed registered electors of the
City of :'iarni, and the Supervisor of Registration shall at once
cause the name of each such elector to be entered in the registra-
tion boot for the precinct in which the elector new resides.
Section 17. That all ordinances and parts of ordinances
in 'conflict with the provisions of this ordinance, including Ordi-
nanoe No. 16, passed and adopted on the 14th day of cotober, 1924,
be and the same are hereby repealed.
