MIAMI. * * * * * * * * * * * * * WHEREAS, the Commission of the City of Miami deems it advisable to issue bonds of the Cite of Miami in the sum of $1, 500, 000 in the • -following amounts for the following municipal purposes: ,.r .I 06.0 (1) (8) { For extending and improving the street railway system, $75,000. For the construction of incinerators or garbage and trash disposal plants, $50,000. For erecting a Public City Market, $75,000. For the acquisition of property for the extension and widening of streets, $100,000. To pay the City'c share of the cost of constructing sanitary sewers, $100,000. For the erection and construction of additional units for hospital purposes and equipment therefor, $50,000. For the development and increase of the facilities of the Miami City Docks by the erection and construction of additional wharves and docks, 3400,000. For acquiring and improving lands for public park purposes, 3400,000. For the erection of a treating and filter plant for the• softening and filtering of the water to be supplied for the use of the City. of Miami and its inhabitants, 3250,000. NOW, Tg2RzFQRk, BE IT OIDAUD by the COMMISSION OF Th3 CITY of MIAMI; Section 1. That oubjeot to ratification by the vote of a ma0ority of the eleotore, who are ownere of real or personal property in the City of Miami, and wha shall have paid the taxes thereon for the year when euoh taxes were last due, and who shall also be free (9) 4 holders therein, voting separately upon each of the nine (9) bond issues hereinafter Mentioned 'at an eleetian to be held on the 29th day of January, 1926, v+ :ioh is hereby called, the . negotiable bonds of the eitp.of Miami shall be issued as follows: (a) Not ex ceoding $78,000 for extending and improving the street railway system, said bonds to mature as follows: $5,000 in each of the years 1928 to 1942, inclusive, so that all thereof shall have matured within ;he probable life or said improvement, which probable life is now estimated and declar- ed to be twenty years from March 1, 1925. (b) Not exceeding $50,000 for the construction of incinera- tors or garbage and trash disposal plants, said bonds to mature as follows: $5,000 in each of the years1928 to 1937, inclusive, so that all thereof shall have matured within the probable life of said improvement, which probable life is now estimated and declared to be twenty years from March 1, 1925. (c) Not exceeding $75,000 for erecting a public City Market, said bonds to mature as follows; $5,000 in each of the years 1926 to 1940, inclusive, eo that all thereof shall have matured within the probable life of said improvement, which probable life is now estimated and declared to be fifteen years from March 1, 1925. (d) Not exceeding $100,000 for the acquisition of property for the extension and widening of streets, said bonds to mature as follows; $5,000 in each of the years 1948 to 1953, inclusive, $30,000 in 1954 and $40,000 in 1955, so that all thereof shall have matured within the probable life of said improvement, which probable life le now estimated and declared to be sixty years from March 1, 1985, (e) Not exceeding $100,000 to pay the City's share of the ooet of conetrueting sanitary eewere, said bonds to mature as followe; $€,000 in each of the years 1943 to 1953, inclusive, $30,000 in 1954 and $15,000 in 1955, eo that all thereof shall have matured within the probable life of 'Aid improvement, Wnioh probable life 1 is now estimated and donlared to be forty-five years from Merdh 1, 1926. (f) Not exoeeding $60,000 for the erection and construc- tion of additional Nita for hospital purposes and equipment therefor, said bonds to mature as follows: $5,000 in eaoh of the years 1938 to 194?, inclusive, so that all thereof shall have matured within the probable life of said improvement, which probable life is now estimated and declared to be thirty years from March 1, 1925. (g) Not exceeding : 400,000 for the development and increase of the facilities of the Miami .City Dicks by the erection and construction of additional ywharves and docks, said bonds to mature as follows: $15,000 in each of the years 1935, to 1953, inclusive, $50,000 in 1954 and $65,000 in 1955, so that all thereof shall have matured within the probable life of said improvement, which probable life is now estimated and declared to be forty years from March 1, 1925. (h) Not exceeding $400,000 for acquiring and improving lands for public park purposes, said bonds to mature as follows: $15,000 in each of the years 1935 to 1953, inclusive, $50,000 in 1954 and $65,000 in 1955, so that all thereof shall have matured within the probable life of said improvement, which probable life is now estimated and declared to be fifty years from March 1, 1925. (i) Not exceeding $250,000 for the erection of a treating and filter plant for the softening and filtering of the water to be supplied for the use of the City of Miami and its inhabitants, said bonds to mature as follows; $5,000 in each of the years 1935 to 1940, inclusive, $10,000 in each of the years 1941 to 1953, inclusive, $68,000 in 1954 and $28,000 in 1955, so that all thereof shall have matured within the probable life of said improvement, which probable life is now eetimated and declared to be forty years from March 1, 1925. Section 2. That all of the said bowie, if i$aued Mull bear interest at not exceeding six per oentuw per annum, payable eemi- 1 e ennua.1171 and both principal an& interest shall be payable .at the United States Mortgage & Trust Company in the City of Now York, and said bonds shall be in the denomination of $1,000. Section 34 That a epeeial election is hereby called and directed to be held at the City EAU in the City of Miami, from eight o'clock a.m., to sundown on the 29th day of January, 1925, for the purpose of submitting to a vote of those electors who are owners of real or personal property in the City of Miami and who shall have ,aid the taxes due thereon for the year in which such taxes were last due, and who shall also be freeholders therein. the nine (9) separate questions as to whether said nine (9) bond issue respectively shall be ratified and authorized. Section 4. That the City Clerk will open the registration books for said election from 10:00 o'clock a.m., until 4:00 o'clock p.m., on the 8th day of January, 1925, and each day (Sundays excepted) thereafter until the 28th day of January, 1925, in his office, on which last day such books shall remain open all day for the purpose of registering those persona who are qualified to register for such election. Section 5. That J. D. Godman, J. T. Blackman and S. M. Clauseen are hereby appointed and designated as inspectors, and J. Steward Norwood as Clerk of the election, and the City Clerk is hereby directed to certify the names of such inspectors and clerks of eleotion to the Mayor. Section b. That the City Clerk is hereby directed to publish in the Miami Daily Herald and the Miami Daily News, newspapers published in the City of Miami, on the 7th day of January, 1925, on the 14th day of January 1925, and on the 21st day of January 192 5, and on the 28th day of January 1920, a notice .of said elution and registration in substantially the following form: i NOTICE OP BOND ELECTION PURSUANT TO ORDINANCE NO. S15 PASSED JANUARY 6, 1926. A special Election will be held on the 29th day of January, 1926, from 8s00 o'clock a.m. to sundown at the City Hall, at which election there will be submitted to the qualified electors who are owners of real or personal property and +di o shall have paid the taxes thereon for the year when such taxes were last due, and who shall also be freeholders in said City, the following nine questions: 1. Shall bonds of the City of Miami not exceeding $75,000 be issued for extending and improving the street railway system? 2. Shall bonds of the City of Miami not exceeding $50,000 be issued for the construction of incinerators or garbage and trash disposal plants? 3.- Shall bonds of the City of Miami not exceeding $75,000 be issued for erecting a Public City Market? 4. Shall bonds of the CI.ty of Miami not exceeding $400,000 be issued for the development and increase of the facilities of the Miami City Docks by the erection and construction of additional wharves and docks? �.
