On this let day of October, 1925, the Oommission of the City of Miami, Florida, met at the City Hall in said City pursuant to an adjournment taken September 29, 1925. The meeting was palled to order at 3:00 o'clock P. M. by Chairman E. C. Romfh and on roll oall the following members of the Commission were present: E. C. Romfh, J. E. Lummus, J. I. Wilson, J. H. Gilman, C. D. Leffler. \\ ABSENT: None. ,SAI,E 01' $500.000.00 REVENUE BONDS TO FIRST NATIONAL BANK,MIAMI, AND. ASSOCIAT B The Direotor of Finanoe submitted the following communication reporting bide re- oeived for $500,000.00 Revenue Bonds of 1925: September 28th, 1925. Hon. Board of Commissioners, City of Miami, Florida. Gentlemen: - I have reoeived the following bids for $500,000.00'Revenue Bonds to bear date September 30th, 1925 and mature June 30th,19E6 t First National Bank, Miami and Associates par and interest 4 Curtis 8: Sanger, New York par and interest ® 4% I have notified Curtis 82 Sanger that bonds were awarded group of Miami banks, whioh action please oonfirm if satisfactory. HUDDLESTON Direotor of Finanoe Whereupon the following resolution oonfirming the sale of said bonds 14 duoed by Mr. Lummus, who moved its adoption: RESOLUTION N0. 2177. A RESOLUTION CONFIRMING THE SALE OF' $500,000.00 REVENUE BONDS OF 1925. WHEREAS, the Direotor of Finanoe reports that upon'reoeipt of the following bids, to -wit: First National Bank, Miami and Associates par and interest a 4 Curtis & Sanger, New York....par and interest ® 4 , be award- ed said $500,000.00 Revenue Bonds of 1925 to tin First Bank, Miami, and Associates, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LIIALMI: That the sale of $500,000.00 Revenue Bonds of 1925 to First National Bank, Miami, and Associates at a bid of par and in- terest at the rate of 4 per annum, be, and the same is hereby, confirmed. National Upon being seconded by Mr.Wilson, the said resolution was ,passed and adopted by the following vote: AYES: Messrs. Romfh, Lummus, Leffler, Wilson, Gilman. NOES: None. AUTHORIZING BUILDING PERMIT TO RAND PROPERTIES The City Manager submitted a oommunioation addressed to him from the Direotor of Public Service reoommending the issuance of a building permit to Rand Properties' for erection of a building at the oorner of 14th Street and N. E. Second Avenue' to,a height of 15 stories: September 25,,1925. Mr. F. H. Wharton, City Manager, Miami, Fla. Dear Sir: - The N. E. Second Avenue Company, through Rand Properties, has made applioation for building permit for the erection of hotel building to be looated on Lots 7-9-10-11-12, Blook 20, of Robbins, Graham and Chillingsworth's Addition to the City of Miami, being at the N. W. corner of 14th Street and Seoond Ave- nue, N. E. The building as proposed shows a height of 168 feet, with 15 stories. Our present building oode permite a height of only 125 feet. October 1, 1925. 1 However, we have oarefully oheoked the plans and spoeifi.oations and find that the construction, as planned, is good. Whereupon the following resolution authorizing the issuance of a building permit for the ereotion of the building described in the communioation of the Director of Pub- lio SerVioe was introduced by Mr. Gilman, who moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 2178. A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE BUILDING INSPECTOR OF THE CITY OF MIAMI TO ISSUE A SPECIAL BUILDING PERMIT TO RAND PROPERTIES FOR THE ERECTION OF A HOTEL BUILDING AS SET FORTH HEREIN. WHEREAS, by an amendment to the City Building Code, it is provid- ed that in the ereotion and construction of buildings to a greater height than 125 feet, or 10 stories, it call be necessary to submit plans and apeoifioations for suoh building to the Building Inspector and the Direotor of Public Servioe for examination, and upon proper recommendation from said Officials, the City Commission may authorize the iesuanoe of a Speoial Building Permit, and WHEREAS, Rand Properties, Inc . , have submitted plans and specifi- cations for the ereotion of a hotel building to be located on Lots 7- 9-10-11-12, Blook20, of Robbins, Graham and Chillingsworth Addition, to a height of 168 feet, or 15 stories, and WHEREAS, the Direotor of Public Service has submitted his writ- ten approval of the plans and speoifioations for said building, NOW, THEREFORE, BE I'T RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI: That the Building Inspector be, and he is hereby, authorized and direoted to issue a speoial building permit to Rand Properties, Inc., for the ereotion and construction of the said building to be lo- oated as aforesaid. Upon being seconded by Mr. Wilson, the said resolution was passed and adopted by the following vote: AYES: Messrs. Romfh, Lummus, Wilson, Gilman, Leffler. NOES: None. ADJOURNMENT There being no further business to oome before the Commission at this meeting; on motion duly made and seconded, the meeting was adjourned.
