MINUTES OF ADJOURNED MEETING OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLA.
On this llth day of August, 1925, the Commission of the City of Miami, Florida, met
at the City Hall in said 0 i ty at 5:00 o' olook P. M. pursuant L;o an adjournment talasn
this date. The meeting was called to order by Chairman E. C. Romfh an& on rolloall
the following members of the Commission were present:

ABSENT: None.
BIDS FOR $1,793,000.00 SI'EOIAL IMPROVEMENT BONDS SERIES "Y" RECEIP I1
The Direotor of Finance submitted the sealed bids reoeived by him for $1,795,000.00
Speoial Improvement Bonds Series "Y" and on motion of Mr. Leffler, seconded by Mr.
Gilman, the bids were ordered opened and read and are as follows:

And it appearing that the joint bid of First National Bank of New York, Chioago Trust
CoMpsny, Halgarten & Company, Marx & Company and Atlantio National Bank of Jaokaon-
ville was the highest and best bid received for the said $1,793,000.00 Speoial Im-
provement Bonds Series "Y", a resolution aooepting the said joint bid and awarding
the bonds to said joint biddera was introduced by Mr. Lummus who moved its adoption;
RESOLUTION NO. 2088.
A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE JOINT BID OF FIRST NATION-
AL BANK OF NEW YORK, CHICAGO TRUST COMPANY, ITAT,GARTEN
AND COMPANY, MARX AND COMPANY AND ATLANTIC NATIONAL
BANK OF JACKSONVILLE FOR $1,793,000.00 SPECIAL IMPROVE-
MENT BONDS SERIES "Y" OF TEE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA,
AND FIXING THE RATE OF INTEREST THEREON.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI:
. 1. That the joint bid of First National Bank of New York, Chioago
Trust Company, Halgarten & Company, Marx & Company and Atlantio National
Bank of Jaoksonville to pay $1,768,973.00 and aoorued interest from the
date of said Bonds to the date of delivery for $1,793,000.00 Special Im-
provement Bonds Series "Y" to bear interest at the rate of 40 per annum
be, and the same is hereby, aocepted and the bonds awarded to said bid-
ders.
2. That the said $1,793,000.00 Speoial Improvement Bonds Series
"Y"dated August 1, 1925, shall bear interest at the rate of 4 per an-
num.
Upon being seconded by Mr. Gilman, the resolution was duly adopted by the following
vote: AYES: Messrs. Romfh, Leffler, Lummus, Wilson, Gilman. NOES: None.
AUTHORIZING SPECIAL BUILDING PERMITS UNDER AMENDED BUILDING CODE
The Aoting City Manager submitted the following communication in reference to ap-
piioatione for permits to ereot buildings to a height greater than 125 feet to
which were attached the recommendations of the Direotor of Public Service:
August 11, 1925,
City Commission.
Gentlemen:
Please note the attaohed letters from the Direotor of Public
Service with reference to permits for construction of office build-
ing and hotel on North part of Lots 11 and 12, Block 117 North, and
Lot 14, Block 61 North respeotively.
I concur in the recommendation of the Direotor of Public Ser-
vioe.

Dear Sir:
The George A. pu11er Oonatruotion . Company ha s made applioation
for the ereotion of an'offioe building to be looated on the North
part of Lots 11 and 12, Blook 117 North.
The building, as contemplated, shows a height of 178 feet with
15 stories. Our present building oode permits of a height of 126
feet.
However, we have oarefully checked the plans and specifi.oations
and find that the construction, as planned, is good, substential and
perfectly oafs. We, therefore, recommend that a permit be granted
for the ereotion of this structure.

Mr. F. S. Marlow, consulting architect for the Bisoayne Hotel
Company, has made application for the ereotion of a hotel building
to be looated on Lot 14, Block 61 North.
The building as contemplated shows a height of 137'4" with 12
stories. Our present building oode permits a height of 125'.
However, we have oarefully oheoked the plans and speoifioations
and find that the construction, as planned, is good, substantial and
perfectly safe. We, therefore, reoommend that a permit be granted
for the erection of this etruoture.

Whereupon the following resolution authorizing the issuanoe of a special building per-
mit to George A. Fuller Construction Company was introduced by Ur. Lummus who moved
its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 2089.
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE BUILDING
INSPECTOR OF THE CITY OF MIAMI TO ISSUE A SPECIAL
PERMIT TO GEORGE A. FULLER CONSTRUCTION COMPANY FOR
THE ERECTION OF AN OFFICE BUILDING AS SET FORTH HERE-
IN.
WHEREAS, by an amendment to the City Building Code, it is provided
that in the erection and construction of buildings to a greater height
than 125 feet, or 10 stories, it shall be necessary to submit plans and
epeoifications for such building to the Building Inspeotor and the Direo-
tor of Public Service for examination, and upon proper recommendation
from said offioials, the City Commission may authorize the issuanoe of e
Speoial Building Permit, and
WHEREAS, George A. Fuller ConstruotionCompany have submitted plans
and specifications for the erection of an cffioe building to be looated
on the North part of Lots 11 and 12, Blook 117 North, to a height of 178
feet or 15 stories, and
WHEREAS, the Direotor of Public Service has submitted his written
approval of the plans and speoifioations for said building,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COLMISSION OF THE CITY OF MI-
AMI: That the Building Inapeotor be, and he is hereby, authorized and
directed to issue a speoial building permit to the George A. Fuller Con-
struotion Company for the erection and construction of the said office
building.
Upon being seconded by Mr. Wilson, the resolution was duly adopted by the following
vote: AYES: Messrs. Romf h, Leffler, Lummus, Wilson, Gilman. NOES: None.
And a resolution authorizing the issuance of a special building permit to Bisoayne"
Hotel Company was introduced by LIr. Lummus who moved its adoption:

North, to a hef.ght of 137 feet and 4 inches, and
WHEREAS, the Direotor of Publio Servioe has submitted his written
approval of the plane and specifications for said building,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMI3StON OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI: That the Building Inspector be, and he is hereby, au-:
tho±ized and directed to issue a special building permit to Bis-
oayne.,Hotel Company for the erection and construction of the said
hotel building.
Upon being seconded by Mr. Nilson, the said resolution was duly adopted by the fal-
lowing vote: AYES: Messrs. Romfh, Leffler, Lu.mmus, Wilson, Gilman. NOES:. Note.
ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business to come before the Commission at this meeting, on
motion duly made and seconded, the meeting was adjourned.
