BENNETT, TAX AGENT The following oomplaint of T, B. Bennett, Tax Agent for the Florida East Coast Hotel Company, was r eoeived and filed: Miami, Florida, July 15, 1925. Hon. Board of City Commissioners, Miami, Florida. Gentlemen: - Referring to matter of assessment .of Golf Course of the Flo- rida East Coast Hotel Company in Seo. 35-53-41: In the year 1924 this property was assessed by the City at $65,500, the assessment planed thereon for the year 1925 is $330, 000 - an increase of $264,500, or nearly five times its previous assessed value. In as muoh as this property is used mainly for the benefit of the publio as a Golf Course and has been of material benefit to this oommunity since its inauguration and has been of no finanoial benefit to the owners we would ask that the assessment of this pro- perty be reconsidered and placed at a much lower valuation. We are making this request as the operation of this Golf Conse is an expense to the Hotel Company, and we feel that the oontinu- anoe of this Golf Course is of great benefit to the City. We will greatly appreciate your oonsideration and favorable aotion in this matter. Yours very truly, (Signed) T. B. BENNETT, Tax Agent. No action was taken on the aboveprotest.at'this meeting.
