MINUTES OF THE ADJOURNED MEETING OF THE On this 2nd day of June, 1925, the journed session at 8:30 o'olook P. was palled to order by Chairman E. the Commission were present: E. J. 0. BOARD of COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA. Commission of the City of Miami, Florida, met in ad- M., at the City Hall in Miami, Florida. The meeting C. Eomfh and on roll call the following members of C. Romfh, E. Lummus. D. Leffler. ABSENT: J. I. Wilson, J. H. Gilman. CANVASS OF RETURNS OF INSPECTORS AND CLERK REGULAR MUNICIPAL ELECTION OF JUNE 2ND The Commission having adjourned the morning session of the regular meeting of this date for the purpose of Canvassing the returns of the inspeotors and olerk of the Re- gular Municipal Election of Commissioners, held this date, and the custodian of the , ballot box used at the said eleotion having presented the same to the Commission pro- perly sealed as required by law, the Commission thereupon prooeeded to open the said ballot box and the returns of the eleotion with the oertifioate of the Inspectors and Clerk withdrawn and the said returns canvassed. On motion duly made and seconded, the oertifioate of the Inspectors andClerk was ordered oopied upon the minutes of the meet- ing and is as follows: CERTIFICATE 0 F INSPECTORS AND CLERK 0 F REGULAR MUNICIPAL ELECTION JUNE 2ND, 1925. CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA. STATE OF FLORIDA) COUNTY OF DADE ) CITY OF MIAMI ) We, the undersigned, Inspectors and Clerk of the Regular Munioipal Eleotion for City Commissioners of the City of Miami, Florida, held in a000rdanoe with the City Charter provisions governing regular municipal eleotions and pursuant to Ordinance No. 372, on the 2nd day of June, 1925, in the City of Miami, Florida, do hereby oertify: THAT 232 Ballots were oast at said Eleotion of said City Commission- ers. THAT the following oandidates received the number of votes set oppo- site their names, to -wit: J. H. Gilman received 94 votes. P. A. Henderson reoeived 178 votes. C. D. Leffler reoeived 88 votes. J. E. Lummus reoeived 148 votes. J. I. Wilson reoeived 86 votes, AND THAT No ballots were thrown out and not oounted on a000unt of being marked on the wrong side or otherwise defaoed or spoiled.. STEWART NORWOOD, Clerk. i And it appearing from the Canvass of the said returns that the oandidates for City Commissioner reoeived the following votes: J. H. Gilman reoeived 94 votes. P. A. Henderson reoeived 178 votes. C. D. Leffler reoeived 88 votes. -. J. E. Lummus reoeived 148 votes. J. I. Wilson reoeived 86 votes. and that the total number of ballots oast at said eleotion were 232, None of which were thrown out and not counted on aocount of being defaoed or otherwise spoiled. Thereupon, upon motion duly made and seconded, it was. resolved that P. A. Henderson and J. E. Lummus, the two commissioners who reoeived the highest number of votes in the general eleotion held on this date, are hereby deolared to have been elected as City Commissioners for four (4) years from 12:00 o'clock noon of the day after this Canvass of the votes and the deolaration of the result of the eleotion and until their sucoessors in office are elected and qualified. It was further resolved that C. D. Leffler, J. H. Gilman and J. I. Wilson are hereby declared to have been eleot- ed as City Commissioners for two (2) years from 12:00 o'clock noon of the day after this canvass of the votes and the declaration of the result of the election and un- til their successors in office are elected and qualified. It was further resolved that the returns of the said inspeotors and clerk, including the ballots, tally sheets, oaths of office and certificate of election, be replaced in the said ballot box and that the same be sealed and be kept in the possession of the City Clerk as custodian thereof. 0n roll oall the vote thereon was as follows: AYES: Messrs. Romfh, Leffler, Lummus. NOES: None. Thereupon the Clerk administered the oath of office to Commissioners Henderson, Lummus and Leffler which oath of office was sub - soribed by said Commissioners. Chairman E. C. iomfh expressed his regret in not be- ing able to continue to serve with the other members of the Commission and also ex- pressed his desire to oo-operate with the Commissioners whenever possible. AD JOURNMENT There being no further business to come before this meeting, on motion duly made ana seoonded, the meeting was adjourned. ATTEST: CITY CLERK
