The Clerk read the minutes of the meeting of February 3rd, 1926, and there being
no oorreotions thereto on motion duly made and seconded the minutes were approved
and confirmed.
REQUEST FOR IMPROVEMENTS
ON N. W. llth AVE.
The following oommunioation from Mrs. Carrie Kosing in reference to improvements
on N. W. llth Avenue was received:

Being about 90% owner of all lots fronting on
N. W. llth Ave. between N.W.11th Street (Allapattah
Drive) and North River Drive, I hereby petition to
have this block fully improved withsid ewalks, ourbs
gutters and pavements, an hereby agree to aooept
necessary liens to Dover the cost of the improvements.

The City Muvger submitted a request
under sewer contract No. 40 from the
ere which is as follows:
The City Commission.

Attaohed hereto is a letter from the Director of Publio
Service reoiting a number of sewers and laterals repaired sad con-
creted under Sewer Contract No. 40, which were done as extra work.
These sewers were mostly located in the old part of colored town,
and on which the records in the Engineering Department were very in-
complete. The extra work, as outlined in this letter, amounts to
8$10,015.26, over and above the contraot price, and the money avail-
able under this sewer bond fund.
It will be necessary, in order to pay up the contractor,
to pay this amount out of "City's share sewer bond fund".
I will ask that the proper resolution be passed authoris-
ing the payment of this extra work out of this bond fund.

RESOLUTION NO. 1874.
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT OF THE COST OF
CERTAIN EXTRA WORK UNDER SEWER CONTRACT NO. 40 PROM
THE SEWER BOND FUNDS AS SET FORTH HEREIN.
WHEREAS, the City Manager reports that due to the incompleteness
of the records of the Engineering Department it was necessary to have
pertain extra work done under Sewer Contract No. 40 in the total am-
ount of $10,015.26, and.
WHEREAS, the City Manager recommends that the payment of the post
of such extra work be made from sewer bond. funds,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Commission of the City of
Miami: That the oost of the extra work performed under Sewer Con-
traot No. 40 be, and to hereby, ordered paid from the City'e shareof
the bond funds for the payment of the oast of Sanitary Sewers.

tion of certain liens plaoed against property in Johnson & Waddell Subdivision
for proposed. sewer improvements:

We have letter dated January 27th, 1925, from John J. Quinn
Company, agreeing to the oanoellation of that portion of Sewer
Distriot 92, Contraot Sr. 35, as contemplated on NW Miami Court
between NW 14th St. and NW 16th St.
Final Assessment Roll has gone in on this, and inorder to
relieve the following lots of assessments for work not done, will
you please have the Commission pans neoasaary Resolution oovering:

A RESOLUTION CANCELLING THE LIENS AND REMOVING THE
ASSESSMENTS MADE AGAINST CERTAIN LOTS AND PARCELS
SET FORTH IN THIS RESOLUTION FOR PROPOSED SANITARY
SEWER IMPROVEILENTS NOT MADE.
WHEREAS, the Direotor of'Publio Servioe reports that the por-
tion of Sewer Distriot No. 92, as contemplated on NW Miami Court
between NW 14th Street and NW 16th Street, is not to be made, and
requests the oanoellation of liens and removal of assessments for
the oost of the proposed work, and
WHEREAS, the City Manager has approved the request and reoom
mended the cancellation of the liens,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Commission of the City
of Miami: That the Direotor of Finance be, and he is hereby, au-
thorized and direoted to oanoel the liens and remove the assess-
ments for the ooat of sanitary sewers under Sanitary Sewer Improve-
ment No. 92, Distriot Sr-92, against the following lots and par-
oels, to -wit:

BIDS FOR RECREATION PIER AT NE 36th ST. RECEIVED AND REJECT$D
This being the date set and advertised for reoeiving bids for the oonatruotion of
reoreation pier at the foot of NE 36th Street at 10:00 o'clock A. M. the City
Manager submitted the bids reoeived by him up until that hour and on motion duly
made and seconded the only bid reoeived was ordered opened and read. The bid was
submitted by C. A. Traylor and is as follows:
1. Approximately 380 linear feet of timber pier complete
(excluding shelter) at $31.00 per linear foot.
2. One open shelter 20' x 55' oomplete at lump sum of

BIDS FOR RECREATION PIER AT NE 36th ST.
Time of oompletion of the work, if awarded oontraot, was sixty (60) dale
and a000mpanying the bid was oertified oheok in the aum of $326.00. The
Engineer stated that the estimated ooat of the pier was approximately
$6600.00. It appearing that the bid of C. A. Taylor for the work wee high
the Commission deemed it advisable to reject the said bid and have the City
Manager seoure oompetitive prioea for the work from various contractors and
submit same to the Commission at a later meeting. Thereupon the following re-
solution was offered by Mr. Gilman:
RESOLUTION NO. 1876.
A RESOLUTION REJECTING THE BID OF C. A. TAYLOR FOR
CONSTRUCTION OF RECREATION PIER AT NE 36TH STREET
AND DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER TO SECURE COMPETITIVE
PRICES FOR THE SAID WCRK.
WHEREAS, by public advertisement the Commission oalled for bide
for the oonstruotion of recreation pier at the foot of NE 36tb St.en.d
reoeived only one bid which was submitted by 0. A. Taylor in the sum
of $12,970.00, and
WHEREAS, upon oomparison with the Engineer's estimate of the cost
of the work the Commission oonsidere said bid high and. deems it advis-
able to reject same and direot the City Manager to seoure oompetitive
bide for the work,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Commission of the City of Miami:
That the bid of C. A. Taylor for the oonstruotion of recreation pier
at the foot of NE 36th Street at and for the sum of $12,970.00 be,
and the same is hereby, rejeoted.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager be,and is hereby,
direoted to secure competitive bids for the construction of said pier
and submit same to the Commission at a later date.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk return the oertified
oheok which accompanied the bid of said C. A. Taylor forthwith.
On motion of Mr. Gilman, seconded by Mr. Lummus, the resolution was adopted bythe
following vote: AYES: Messrs. Romfh, Leffler, Lummue, Gilman. NOES: None.
SITE FOR NEW FIRE SUB -STATION OFFERED BY MR. G. C. KIRKLAND
Mr. G. C. Kirkland appeared before the Commission and offered to sell or trade
to the City a lot owned by him and situated on the oornar of N.W. 7th Avenue and
17th Street for site for sub -station for the fire department. After some die-
ouseion the matter was referred to the City Manager with instruotione to go in-
to the matter with Mr. Kirkland and the Chief of the Fire Department and make
a recommendation to the Commission at a later date.
ACCEPTING DEDICATION OF STREETS AND AVENUES IN NEW SUBDIVISIONS
The Director of Publio Service submitted the plats of oertain subdivisions of
property and stated that upon examination the plate oomplied with the rules and
regulations of hie Department and tie said plate showing the dedioation of oer-
tain streets and avenues to the nee of the public the said dedications were ae-
oepted and confirmed by the City by the adoption of the following ordinances:
On motion ofMr. Lummus, seconded by Mr. Gilman, it was resolved that the charter
requirement that all ordinances be read on two separate 000asions, unless dis-
pensed with by a four -fifths vote of the Commission, be dispensed with. The
vote thereon was as follows: AYES: Messrs, Romfh, Leffler, Lummus, Gilman.
NOES: None. Motion Carried and the necessity of reading the ordinanoes ao-
oepting the dedication of the streets shown in the subdivisions was dispensed
with. Thereupon .the ordinance entitled:

KNOWN AS "BUCKEYE PARK"
was introduoed by Mr. Lummus and on motion of Mr. Lummus, aeoonded by Mr. Gil-
man, was given its first reading by title only and passed on its first reading
by the following vote: AYES: Messrs. Romfh, Leffler, Lummus, Gilman. NOES:
None. On motion of Ur. Lummue, aeoonded by Ur. Leffler, the said ordinance was
given its second and final reading in full and passed and adopted on its ee-
oond and final reading by the following vote: AYES: Messrs. Romfh, Leffler,
Lummus, Gilman. NOES: None. The ordinanoe is numbered 333.

oond and final reading in full and passed and adopted on its second and final
reading by the following vote: AYES: Messrs. Romfh, Leffler, Lummus, Gilman.
NOES: None. The ordinance is numbered 335.
AUTRORI,ZING CONDEMNATION OF CERTAIN PROPERTY
IN "POINT VIEW*.
A resolution authorizing the aoquirement by eminent domain for street and other
purposes of the City of Miami of oertain property lying at the foot of Broadway
in "Point View" was introduoed by gr. Gilman and is as follows:
RESOLUTION NO. 1877.
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACQUIREMENT BY EMINENT
DOMAIN FOR STREET AND OTHER MUNICIPAL PURPOSES OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI OF THE PROPERTY IN SAID CITY HEREINAPTER
DESCRIBED.
WHEREAS, it is neoessary that the City of Miami aoquire for
street and other munioipal purposes the following desoribed pro-
perty, to -wit:
That oertain pieoe or paroel of].and known and des-
oribed as "Briokell'e Out Lot" looe,ted between the East-
erly end of Broadway and Bisoayne Bay and lying between
the subdivisions known as "Gifford & Highleyman's" and
"Point View", said "Briokell's Out Lot" being more ful-
ly shown and set out on a plat recorded in Plat Book One,,
Pages 89 and 89* in the office of the Clerk of the Cir-
ouit Court in and for Dade County, Florida, together with
all oommon law and statutory riparian rights'belonging to
or appurtenant to the herein desoribed property.
The above and foregoing described property together with all oom-
mon law and statutory riparian rights belonging to or appurtenant
thereto is necessary and should be aoquired by the City of Miami
for street and other municipal purposes,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI: That the said land together with all oommon law and
statutory riparian rights belonging to or appurtenant thereto
hereinafter desoribed and set forth in this resolution is neoes-
sary and should be aoquired for street and other municipal pur-
poses, and that the City Attorney be, and he is hereby, authoris-
ed and direoted to institute the necessary legal prooeedings in
the name of the City of Miami for the acquirement by said City
by eminent domain of the following desoribed property,to-wit:
That certain pieoe or paroel of land known and
desoribed. as "Brickell's 0ut Lot" located between the
Easterly end of Broadway and Biscayne Bay and lying
between the subdivisions known as "Gifford & Highley-
man's" and "Point View", said "Briokell's 0ut Lot" be-
ing more fully shown and set out on a plat recorded in
Plat Book 0ne, pages 89 and 84 in the office of the
Clerk of the Circuit Court in and for Dade County, Flo-
rida, together with all common law and statutory ripa-
rian rights, belonging to or apputenant to the herein
desoribed property.
