RECTING THE CITY MANAGER TO CAUSE
CERTAIN ALTERATIONS TO BE MADE TO
THE FRONT ENTRANCES OF TEE FIRST
CONGREGATIONAL CHURCH AS SET FORTH

WHEREAS, in the widening of N. E. Second Avenue it
is necessary to alter the front entrances to the First Con-
gregational Church as set forth in the communication of Robert
N. Ward, Pastor of said Church, and
WHEREAS, the Board of Trustees of the said Church
have offered to deed to the City of Miami five feet of said
Church Property for street purposes in consideration of the
City making the necessary alterations to the entrances,
NOW, TT-fl RWFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Commission of
the City of Miami: That the City Manager be, and he is hereby,
authorized and direoted to cause the following alterations to
the front entrances of the First Congregational Church to be
made at the expense of the City, to -wit: "The two stairways
leading up to the main auditorium of the Church to be changed
so that said rises will begin north and south of the first
landings, making the concrete stairways run straight up, doing
away with the present turns. The front entrance to the base-
ment to be closed leaving one small window with small grating
for protection. An entrance to the basement to be cut in the
south wall of the Church with steps on the inside of the wall
leading down to the basement floor. An inside stairway of wood
of other material constructed connecting the basement with the
main auditorium to be at the southwest corner of the building.
The Sidewalk, seven feat in width, together with the regulation
curb at the street line to be laid along the west end of the
lots, said walk extending in width to correspond with the width
