HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-01736s • RESOLUTION NO.. 1736. A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CORI, . REOTIONS OF CERTAIN ASSESSMENTS FOR HIGHWAY AND SIDEWALK IMPROVNTS AS SET FORTH IN THIS RESOLUTION. WHEREAS, the City Manager has requested the cor- rection and adjustment of pertain assessments made for Side- walk and Highway Improvements as Get forth in the communi- cations of the Director of Public Service which are as follows: December 3, 1924.- Mr. F. H. Wharton, City Manager, Miami, Florida. Dear Sir: Will you kindly have proper resolution passed oanoelling the following assessments for sidewalks: Lot C; E. 50' of W. 150' Lot 1, Block 8, Broadmoor, Owner R. L. Parker, Assessed for 50' front, 355.27. Sidewalk District 37-A. Erroneous- ly assessed, as Inspectors, Brewer, Snyder and McAllister state the walk was not built as a part of contract under the above district. Lot 62, Nelson Villa Subdivision owner Mary Matson. Property assessed for 14.1' a26.96 under District Sic-44. Erroneously assessed, as upon in- spection by Messrs. Brewer and Snyder, it was found that this walk was not built under Contract.00vering the district mentioned. Julian, who owns Lot 7 of Bloc: 1, Broadmoor, states that curb was built in front of his property at his own expense, approximately two years ago, the cost being a0.00. Our records show that Engineer .:arsh set stakes for a walk and curb in front of this property. In September 1923, the City paved NE 31st street CITY COMMISSIOW a width of 33', which necessitated the destruction MEETING OF of the old curb and construction of a new curb. The co of this new curb in front of the property men - DEC 09 _,q ah timed, was •354.b8, for which Mr. Julian is assessed. $e is, however, asking for a credit of only 420.00, t= cost to him of the old curb. As the final assessment roll has gone in on this, •• it will be necessary for the Commission to pass the proper resolution authorizing a reduction in the as- sessment if you deem it equitable.
