Douglas acespany, Florida* UPPOR .:.DOCUMEN. My dear Mr. Douglass . . I have yours of the 4thwitbreferanos to. the Jackson Memorial Hospital, Miami, and I have been watching this negotiation since I saw you in Atlanta, Oatober30, 1223. The first proposal on this was submitted to the Architect, mr. Geiger, totober 1, 1923, Which wei'beitore the date of our meeting in Atlanta, and called f ft prig* 02 Thirty Seven His and flighty Five Dollars,,W$T85.001'fer the Elevator and Ten Hundred and Twenty our Toilers, (11 3424,00) for the fronts and doors to the hataway; asking a total ot Forty Bight Hundred and Nine Dollars, ($ 4180,•00). I instructed Br. Bailey, our Jacksonville representative who had.oharge of this, to give you the usual allowance whioh we have made for hospitals and charitable institutions, which was a straight re- duction of 5%; and, I find that he has already made this in a letter dated. July 16th addressed to the City Commissioners of Miami, Florida, and handed to Mr. Geiger, the Architect. This brings the net of this elevator and fronts to Forty Five Hundred Sixty Eight Dollars and. Misty Five Cents, ($ 4568.95). When I arrived in Jacksonville this morning, I took up all the correspondence and I find that the present ele- vator will have white enamel finish on the oar and fronts. The extra which this finish calls for amounts to a cost of Fifty Eight Dollars, ($ 58.00), so I have deducted this extra and in order to maim it even figures have brought the total down to Forty Five Hundred Dollars, ($ 4500.00) for the elevator and the fronts; and, 'would be vary glad to close the contract on these figures. Also wish to thank you very much for the Elevator in your store. This elevator represents the latest type of store elevator whioh is built, and the Self -Levelling feature I think will be of great advantage to you.
