},LEAS, the Commission of the City Of Miami, by resolution
passed and adopted the 6thday of July , 192 4
ordered Sidewalk Improvement -Vo .3X-b0, ;as tria
SK-50 , and the City Manager, under the direc on of the Com-
mission of the City of Miami, has prepared and filed with the
City Clerk plans and specifications of such improvement and an es-
timate of the cost thereof, including an estimate of the cost of
the incidental expenses of said improvement, and
WHEREAS, due notice by public tion as required by the City
Charter has been made that the Commission of the City of Ulna
would on the 22nd day of July , 192 4, at the
City Hall, at 9:00 A L. o'clock, receive and hear the re-
monstrances of all interested persons to the confirmation of said
resolution ordering said improvement, and all remonstrances re-
ceived having been heard and considered by the Commission of the
City of Miami.
2HEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Commission of the City of
Miami: What the said resolution of the Commission of the City
of i•:iami ordering said Sidewalk Improvement no.
S-50 , District SK-50 , be, and the same is hereby, con -
BE IT FUR1'fi tt RESOLVED that the City Clerk cause to be pu-
blished at least three times in the Miami
Herald , a newspaper of general circulation in
Miami, Florida, and in The Florida Times -Union , a news-
paper of general circulation throughout the State, published at
Jacksonville, Florida, a notice calling for sealed bids to be
received by the Commission of the City of Miami an the 12th day
of August , 192 4, at 10:00 A. H. o'clock, for
the construction of the sa ifrrork. Said notice shall state the
improvement is to be cons ;rutted, and paid for in cash, under
Section 56 of the City Charter. Any bid covering work to be
done under more than one resolution shall be in such form as to
permit a separation to be mc:de of the cost under each resolution.
Each proposal must be accompanied by a certif ied check upon a
bank or trust company of Pier ida , in the amount of 22;00 of the
amcunt of the bid, payable to the City of Miami to insure the ex-
ecution of a contract and bend to carry out the stork in accord-
ance with the plans and spec if ica tiens . All bids .will be opened
and award of contract made or all bids rejected. Liter an award
has been made, the checks of all bidders, ether than the one to
rrhom the contract has been avarded, shall be returned. In de-
fault of the entering into of such contract, the certified check
required to accompany such bid shall be forfeited to the City of
l.iiami, Florida , net as a penalty, but as liquidated damages for
the delay or additional cost which may be incurred by the City,
by reason of such default. Do b .d will be permitted to be with-
drawn for any reason vhatever a ter having been filed with the
Clerk.
