WHAAS, on the 22nd day of July, 1924, the Oita )Manager,
pursuant to public notice, received bide for the oonatruatien
of Public Ward Building and for alterations to the Uureee
Home and to the Private and Maternity Ward Building and for
the construction of corridor, at the Jackson Memorial Hospital,
and
WHBR L3, it appears from the tabulation of the bide re-
ceived that the bid of F.H. Paster for constructing Public tbrd
Building, under alternate estimates Nos. 1 and 5, making al-
terations to the Nurses Home and to the Private and Maternity
Ward Building at and for the sum of 4106,065.00, is the lowest
and best bid received, and
LraIRL&S, it is deemed advisable to let the contract for
all the work to be done at the said Hospital to one and the
same contractor and for that reason the bid of P. H. Foster far
constructing corridor at acid for the sum of ,013, 600.00, while
it is not the lowest bid received, should be accepted and the
contract awarded to said ?. H. Foster together with the con-
tract for the other work on which he is the lowest and best bid-
der, and altho' funds in the full amount of the contract price
are not available at this time, the bonds necessary to provide
additional funds in an amount sufficient to pay the cost have
been voted upon, authorized and validated, and the proceeds from
the sale thereof available within a short time, and on account
of the urgent necessity of the improveiient s it is deemed advis-
able to award the contract at this time,
