ARESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE BID OP H. L.CLAi
& SONS POR PAVING WORK UNDER PAVING CONTRACTS
55 and 54 and AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
ENTRR INTO C CNTRACT WITH SA ID H. L. MARK & SONS
POR SUCH WORK.

WHEREAS, on the lst day of July, 1924, the Commission
of the City of Miami, Florida, reoeived sealed proposals for
certain street paving to be done under Highway Improvements
Nos. 224 and 237, both inclusive, Paving Contracts Pv-53 to
Pv-58, both inclusive, and
WHEREAS, upon tabulation of the bids reoeived, it •
appeared that the bid of H. L. Clark & Sons for work under
Highway Improvement No. 224, Paving Contracts 53 and 54, while
being the lowest bidder for the work, was approximately
$7,000.00 higher than the estimate for such work es made by
the City Manager and the said bid was referred to the City
Manager and the Director of Public Service to check up the
difference between the figures of the City Manager's estimate
and the contractor, and
WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Director of Public
Service report that the difference between the figures of the
estimate made by the City Manager and the Contractor amount to
only approximately 60 due to the contractor bidding slightly
higher on each of the items contained in the specifications
and recommend that the contract be awarded to H. L. Clark &
Sons, and
JHEREAS, after due consideration it is the sense of the
Commission that the bid of H. L. Clark & Sons is a fair bid
for the work.,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Commission of the
City of Miami:

1; That the bid of H. L. Clark & Sons on Paving Con-
tracts Pv-53 and Pv-54, at and for the sum of $51,550.30
for Pv-53 and $70,310.07 on Pv-54 be, ana the same
is hereby accepted.
2: That the City ?:tanager be, and re is hereby authoriz-
ed ana airected to execute contract for and on behalf
of the City of Miami, with said H. L. Clark & Sons for
the work included under Paving Contract 53 and Paving
Contract 54, said contract to be anprovea as to form
ana execution n,. the City Attorney.
3: That the City Manager is hereby directed to require
tr:e contractor to furnish bona with sureties satis-
factory to the City Commission in the amount of the
contract prices, conditioned for the performance of
the work in accordance with such contracts, said bonds
to be approvea by tr_e City attorney as to force and
execution.
