A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING CERTAIN BIDE AND AWARD.

IMPRCVffi'S/SNTS NOS. 224 TO 237, BOTH INCLUSIVE.
WHEREAS, on the let day of July, 1924, the Commission of
the City of Miami, Florida, received sealed proposals for cer-
tain street paving to be dons under Highway Improvements Nos.
224 to 237, both inolusive, Paving Contracts Pv-53 to Pv-58,
both inolusive, and
WHEREAS, upon tabulation of the bids reoeived it appears
that the lowest and best bidders for the work under each of
said Paving Contracts are as follows:
On Pv-53 and Pv-54, H.L.Clark & Sons at 451,550.30
on Pv-53 and 470,310.07 on Pv-54;
On Pv-55, R. G. Lasseter & Company at 4139,769.06;
On Pv-56, R. G. Lasseter & Company at , 163,641.84;
On Pv-57, T. B. MoGahey Company at 4'136,802.69;
On Pv-58, Morgan -Hill Paving Company at 435,856.961 and
WHEREAS, the Director of Public Service reports that all
the bids, except the bid of H. L. Clark & Sons on Contracts
53 and 54, are less than the estimated cost of the work under
each of the said contracts as made by the City Manager, and
WHEREAS, it is deemed advisable by the Commission to ac-
cept the bids made for Paving Contracts 55, 56, 57 and 58 and
refer the bids made for Paving Contracts 53 and 54 to the City
Manager and the Director of Public Service to determine the
reason for the difference between the estimated cost and the
bids received and to reconcile same if possible and to defer
ac t:.on on the bids for Contracts 53 and 54 until the next re-
gular meeting of the Commission,

City of Miami;

1: That the bids of R. G. Meister & Oompsny as
Paving Oontraot Pv-65 at and for the sum of 039,769.06
and on Paving Oontraot Pv.-86 at end for the etas of 4163,
641.84; and the bid of T. B. McGehey Oampeny an Paving
Contract Pv-57 at and for the sun of 4136,802.69; and
the bid of Morgan -Hill Paving Company on Paving Oontraot
Pv-58 at and for the sum of $35,886.96, be, and the same
are hereby aooepted.
2: That the bide of H. L. Clark & Sons on Paving
Contracts Pv-53 and Pv-54 be, and they are hereby, referred
to the City Manager and the Direotor of Public Service for
the purpose of determining the reason for the difference be-
tween the estimated cost as made by the City Manager and the
amounts of the bids received for the work and to reconcile
same if possible and report the result thereof at the next
regular meeting of the Commission.
3: That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, author-
ized and directed to execute contracts, for and on behalf
of the City of Miami, with R. G. Lasseter & Company for work
under Paving Contract Pv-55 and Paving Contract Pv-56; with
2. B. MoGahey Company for work under Paving Contract Pv-57;
and with Morgan -Hill Paving Company for work under Paving
Contract Pv-58, all of ea id contracts to be approved as to
form and execution by the City Attorney.
4: That the City Manager is hereby directed to require
the contractor in each of the contracts hereinabove authoriz-
ed to furnish bond with sureties satisfactory to the City Com-
mission in ti:eamount of the contract price, conditioned for
the performance of the work in aoc ordanoe with such contracts,
said ocnds to be approved by the City Attorney as to form and
execution.
5: Tna t the Citor Clerk return the checks of the unsuo-
oessful bidders forthwith.
