WHEREAS, the City Manager reports that due to the large
amount of improvement work being done this year the .appropria -
tion of 460,000.00 to the account of "Salaries" office of Di-
rector, Department. of Public Service, is practically exhausted
and tie t it will be necessary to provide for an additional ap-
propria tion of 425,000.00 to the said account, and
i REAS, the Departmental Accruals arising from "Engineer-
ing Servides" was estimated at 4;50,000 for the year and that
amount reached during the first seven months in the year, and
IThIMEAS, by increasing the estimated Department Acdruals
arising from "Engineering Services" 425, 000.00 an additional ap-
prcpria tion of that amount may be made to the account of "Sala-
ries", Office c_ Director, Department of Public Service,

City of Miami: That the Director of Finance be, and he is here-
by, authorized and directed to increase Departmental Accruals
by the sun of ..25,000.00 to provide additional appropriation to
the account of "Salaries", Office of Director, Department of
Public Service.

There was provided in the Budget for this fisoal
year, July lst,1923 to June 30th,1924, and amount of
$60,000.00, a000unt "Salaries", office of Director -
Code 130-01,in the Department of Publio Service.
There has been considerable more improvement work
done during the year than we had figured on when the
Budget was made up, and the amount allowed for this item
is practically exhausted.
On the other side of the a000unt, we had estima-
ted 050,000.00 as "Departmental Acoruals"arising from
"Engineering Services", and the amount was nearly reached
the first seven months in the year.
It will require an additional appropriation from
the General ,Fund of 025,000.00 to take care of the sala-
ries in this Department for the balance of the fiscal year.
This amount will be fully off -set by the added "Depart-
mental Accruals" over the amount estimated in the budget.
