1 RESOLUTION DIRECTING TEE CITY OLER$ TO CHBON
PETITIONS PILED BY OHAS. A. MILLS, OELIRUAN OP
PETITIONERS, TO ASCERTAIN THE NUMBER OP REGIS-
TERED VOTERS WHOSE SIGNATURES ARE APPENDED TO
SAID PETITIONS. AND REQUIRING A REPORT THEREOF
TO BE MADE TO THE CITY COMMISSION.
WHEREAS, Chas. A. Mille and others have submitted peti-
tion requesting the Oity Commission to pass an ordinanoe en-
. titled:
"SUPPORTIVE
DOCUMENTS
FOLLOW"
"An Ordinanoe Authorizing and Requiring the
City Commission to Sell and Convey to Har-
vey Seeds Post No. 29, American Legion, De-
partment of Florida, at Miami, Florida, the
Property described herein, At and for the
Sum of $1.00, and for the Farther Consider-
ation that the Grantee Construct and Erect
Thereon a Memorial Home for the American Le-
gion and as a Memorial to the Deceased Ve-
terans of the World War"
said petition having been prepared under Section 5 of the City
Charter of the City of Miami, and
WHEREAS, said Seat ion 5 of the City Charter requires the
City Clerk to asoertain by examination the number of register-
ed voters whose signatures are appended thereto and whether
this number is at least ten per oent of tue total number of
registered voters as shown by the city registration books, and
that the City Clerk shall attach to said petition his certi-
ficate showing the result of said examination,
NUW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the. Commission of the
City o f M iami
1: That the said petition be, and is hereby, referred
to the City Clerk to ascertain by examination the number of
registered voters whose signatures are appended thereto and
whether this number is at least ten percent of the total num-
ber of registered voters as shovel by the City Registration
Books and attach to said petition his oertifioate showing the
result of such examination.
