WHEREAS, upon tabulation of the bids received and submitted by the
Director of Finance for 4759,000.00 Series "X" Special Dnprovement Bonds
of the City of Miami, Florida, it ie deemed to the best interests of the
Oity to aooept the joint bid of Dillon, Read & Company and L. F. Rothe-
ohild & Company for said bonda,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE It RESOLVED by the Oommiecion of the City of
Miami:
1: That the joint afar cf Dillon, Read & Company and L. F. Rothe -
obi] & Company to pay 4760,116,00 and accrued interest for 4759,000.00
advise "X" Special Improvement Bonds to bear interest at the rate ar
per annum be, and the same is hereby accepted and the bonds awarded to
said Dillon, Read & Company and L. r. Rothaohild & Oompany.
2: That the paid $759,000.00, Series "X", 3peoial Improvement Banda
Meted ()etcher 1, 1924, authorized by Resolution No. 1673, adopted Ootober
14th, 1924, shall bear Internet at the rate cf 4% per annum.
On motion cf Mr. Lummue, seconded by Mr. Leffler, the resolution was peened and adopt-
ed by the following vote: AYES: Mesers. Romfh, Leffler, Lummus, Oilman. ROES: None.

submitted his detailed estimatelooat of the bridge and the City Manager submitted

Service and Welfare:
The undersigned bidder declares that,he has read the ()entreat and
speeificatione, that he has examined and understands the plane; that
he has examined the site and has determined for himself the conditions
affecting the lurk and he proposes and agreee, it this proposal is ao
°opted, to provide at his cwn expense all labor, machinery, plants,
tools, apparatus, appliances and memo of constructien and all mater-
ials, end to construct complete the entire structure In the manner and

3. Fcr all reiniforcing steel In all conorete inoluding wire mesh

4. Fcr all machinery, racks, lock mechanism, trunnion shafts and
bearings, including turned bate for attaehment of machinery parts to

bridge based on his detailed estimate wee 4476,773.80 and that the total estimated
oast of the bridge based upon the prioes bid by the centraotor amounted to 0190,431.

ding higher an the item of steel than he had estimated. After a c °roper la on of the
prices bid by the oontreoter on each item with the estimateei made by the Direotor ot
Public Service the bid of the Onmer-Ebeary Foundation Company met with the approval
cf the Coranission and a resolution seeepting the bid and authorizing the 014r Mana-
ger to execute a oontraot, on behalf oi the Oity, with the oontractor for the work
waa intreduoed by Mr. LU111111110 and is es follows:

WHEREAS, by due public notioe the Commission called for pealed bide
for the aenstruotion cf a bridge over the Miami River at 11. . eifth
Street, and
MMUS , the only bid for the work received was submitted by The 0o-
mer Bbeary Peundatien Company, which bid, after comparison with the esti-
mates of soat ma de by the Director of Publics Service, is satisfactory to
the Commission and it is deemed to the best interesta cf. the City to
award the oontraot :for the work to the said Comer-Ebeary Foundation Com-

ami:
1: That the proposal and bid of the Comer-Ebeary ?cundation Company
to furnish all materials, labor and means for the erection, coestruatien
and equipment of a bridge aver the Miami River at N. W. Fifth Street at
and far the unit prioes set forth in their said propcsal and bid in ace
oordanoa with the plans and speolfieations therefor, be, and the same is
hereby, acoepted and the °entreat for the work awarded to them.
2: That the 01.17 Manager be, one he to hereby, author,. zed and di-
reoted tc enter into oontraot, for arid on behalf of the City cf Miami,
with the said Comer-Ebsaz.7 Foundation Company I! or the eaid work and to re-
quire the ea id Contractor to furnish eurety bond in the amount of one hun-
dred peroent of the estimated oontraot cast indemnifying the City against
any loss by reason cf the oentractor not oompleting the oontraot th anoord-
anoe with the oontraot and plans and specif teatime, both °entreat and bond
to be approved as to form and exeoution by the City' £ttcrney.
