The Clerk read the minutes of the meeting of March 25th, 1924, and there being no
additions or corrections thereto the same were approved and accepted as written.

The following written communication addressed to the City Oommission from Mrs. Lon
Worth Jrow, President, Miami Woman's Club, was received and after being read was or-
dered filed and copied upon the minutes of the meeting:
The City Commissioners,
Gentlemen:
Miami, .01orida,
April 1, 1924.
We hereby request that the City Commissioners of the
City of Miami appropriate the sum of 43,982. during the f isoal
year July 1, 1924, to July 1, 1925, for the maintenance of a free
public library. This amount to be expended for the maintenance
of the library according to the budget herewith attached.

WHEREAS, the Miami Woman's Club requests that the City make an appro-
priation of ior maintenance of a Free Public, Library, and
Vi&AS, it is necessary that such appropriation be paid from the Pu-

NOW, 13E If liESOLVED by the Commission of the City of Miami:
That the jity Munaiser be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to
include in the Budget for the 1'13°31 year 1924-25 an appropriation for multi,.

was received. at this meeting. The petition requested the improvement of
17th Court between West Flagler Street and S. W. 4th Street by the oon-
of paving, curbing and gutter and sidewalks. The petition was, on motion
and seconded, referred to the Oity Manager.
RATIFYING CONTRACT WITH J. J. QUINN FOR SEWERS
The City Manager submitted the proposed contraot between the Uity of Miami and J. J.
Quinn Company for the construction of sanitary sewers under Sanitary Sewer Improve-
ment Districts 90, 91 and 92, together with bond furnished by the contractor. Af-
ter an examination of the .contraot and bond and the same meeting with the approval
of the Commission the following resolution was offered by Mr. Gilman:

WHEREAS, by Resolution No. 1334, adopted March 25th, 1924, the Com-
mission authorized and directed t;-,e City Manager to enter into contract
with John J. Quinn Compary for construction of sewers under Sanitary Sew-
er Improvement Distr lots Nos. 90, 91 and 92, and
WHEREAS, the City Manager has submitted said contract duly executed
by the City of Miami and the contractor together with bond furnished by
said contractor, both bond and contract having been approved as to form
and execution by the City Attorney,

Since awarding the contract to Lir. Ge o. Jahn for the building
of the corridor c onnec ting the hospital buildings, the Hospital
Board have recommanded certain changes whioh will better meet the
requirements and conveniences o f the City Hospital, which changers
have been approved by the architect.
I am attaching hereto a letter fro:n Mr. Jahn, the contractor,
agreeing LO make these changes far 4900.50.
I would like a resolution authorizing the City Manager to make
