A RESOLUTION AOOEPPING THE BID OF AND AWARD/NG 00R0
TRACT TO U. 3. WELDING AND IRON WORKS FOR 3 W. R a>.
INNS UNDER STORM SEWER DISTRICT NO. 60-A; AUTHORIZING
TB:3 CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO O0NTi3ACT FOR SAID Wes;
AND DIRECTING ME RETURN OF CERTIFIED 011E0K3 AND BID-
DER' S BONDS TO THE UNSUCCESSFUL BIDDERS BY THE CITY
CL1S.
WHEREAS, the Director of Public Service and _City Manager,
pursuant to directions given at the meeting on August 21st, re-
port that due to lack of proper facilities a test of the strength
of the sewer castings proposed to be furnished the City by the
C . H. Lyne Foundry and Machine Co. and the U. S. Welding and
Iron Works was impossible, and
WHEREAS, the specifications upon which said bide were
based called for such castings to be made of TOUGH GRAY IRON,
and
WHEREAS, the bid. of U. S. Welding and Iron Works was the
lowest and best bid, based upon such specifications, received
by the Commission;
NOW, TIUREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Commission of the
City of Miami:
Section 1. That the proposal of U. S. Welding and Iron
Works for sewer castings under Storm Sewer District No. 60-A,
as set forth in their bid, be, and the same is hereby, accepted.
Section 2. That the City I.ianager be, and he is hereby,
authorized and directed to enter into contract with said U. S.
welding and Iron Works and th.;t the contract, together with
bond to be furnished by the contractor, be approved by the City
Attorney and that the Cit;.' i:;ana,rer submit both contract and bond
to the Commission for approval.
Section 3. That the City Clerk return to the unsueoess-
:'ul bidders the certified ohec;:s and bidder's bonds which ac-
companied their bids.
