HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-00732'A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE GOVERNOR TO APPOINT W. H. MoINTYRE AS HARBOR -MASTER FOR THE PORT 0? MIAMI, FLORIDA. WHEREAS the City of Miami has, from time to time issued its bonds for the deepening of the channel from Rimini to the Atlantic Ocean and for the construction of a turning basin and for the erection of municipal piers and wharves and warehouses, all for the benefit of shipping and oommerce, and WHEREAS, The City of Miami is informed that the term of office of the present Harbor Master will shortly expire, and .VU REAS W. H. McIntyre has had an experience of twenty or more years in and about Bay Biscayne and is familiar with the harbor and its shipping and the needs and requirements of the City of Miami, and WHEREAS, the appointment of W. H. McIntyre as Harbor Master for the Port of the City of Miami would meet the approval of the shipping interests of the said City and be of advantage to the shipping and commerce of the said Port, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI: That the Honorable Cary A. Hardee, Governor of the State of Florida, be and he is hereby respectfully requested to an.oint W. H. McIntyre of :iiami, Florida, as Harbor Master of the Po"t of the City of .:.ii6.J.i upon the xpiration of the term of the present incumbent. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk be and he is hereby requested to send a certified copy of this resolution to the Governor of the State of Florida.
