NOTICE BY PUBLICATION ONCE A WEEK FOR SIXTY (60)
AYS IN BOTH NEWSPAPERS OF THE APPLICATION TO THE
LEGISLATURE FOR AMENDMENT OF THE CITY CHARTER.

BE IT RESOLVED by the Commission of the City of Miami, that
the CityAttorney be, and he is hereby, authorized to cause to be
publ'shed in both newspapers in the City of Miami onoe a week for
period of sixty (60) days notice of the intention of the City
Commission of the City of Miami to apply to the Legislature of the
State of Florida at its next regular session for amendment to the
City Charter of said City which said amendment shall read as followe:
The City Commission shall have power by resolution
to order any owner or owners of abutting real estate to
construct sidewalks in front of their several premises,
and may provide by general ordinance that in case of
their refusal after notice given, such sidewalks shall be
constructed by the Oity, and that the cost thereof daall
constitute a lien upon such real estate, and that such
cost shall be paid as may be provided by said ordi:;ance.
The notice last above provided for may be made by service
on the owner of the property, or. the agent who collects
Me rent, or the occupant of said property, or in case
the said property is unimproved, by posting such notice
on the property. Zhe charges in this section provided for
shall constitute liens, all of which shill be of the same
nature, and to the same extent, as the liens for general
city taxes, and such liens shall date from the date of the
passage of the resolution ordering the sidewalk construc-
tion, and shall be collectible in the same manner and with
the same penalties and under the same provisions as to sale
and forfeiture as city taxes are collectible, and shall also
be collectible in any manner authorized by Section 5G of
the City Charter for the collection of special assessments.
