HomeMy WebLinkAboutO-00179O AD INA CE N AN ORDINANCE CREATING THE DEPART: NT Or PUBLIC UTILITIES, RROVIDI tO POR THE APPoINTANT OF A DIRECTOR THEREFOR O AND b INI 0 HlS POWERS AND DUTIES i►HEREAS, at a general municipal election he March 20th, 1523, the qualified electors of the Oity of Miami authoriztri the istua,roe of bonds of the City of Miami of $760,000.00 for the rurr.oee of acquiring an adequate •sub:- ply of wholesome water for the use of the inhabitants of the City of Miami, and authorized the issuance ofl, CCO,COO worth of bonds for the purpose of acquiring lands for public Park purposes, and authorized the issuance of bonds of $400,O00.CC, for the purpose of extending and increasing the street railway system of the City of :Miami, and authorized the issuance of other bonds for other rublic purposes. And, WHEREAS, the City Commission has issued and sold the bonds so authorized by the electors of the C.ty, and WHEREAS, the City Commission believes that the acquisition of an adequate supply of wholesome water for the use of the City and its inhabitants, and the acquirement and.improvement of a public park, extending from old Sixth Street to old Eourteenti;.
