HomeMy WebLinkAboutO-00157Y ORbINANCE AN ORDINANCE CALLING AN ELECTION TO VOTE UPON THE I88UANCE OF BOND8 OF THE CITY OF MIA3MI. - WHEREAS, the Commission of the City of deems it advisable to issue bonds of the City of Miami in the sum of 02,730,000 in the following amounts for the following municipal purposes t (1) Acquiring an adequate supply of wholesome water for the use of the City andits inhabitants, $750,000. (C) For acquiring and imrrovinF lands for public park purposes, 01,000,000. (3) For extending and improving the street railway system of the City of Miami, $400,000. i4O. For constructing a hospital unit and connecting corridors and equipirg hosxital units, e100,C00. .(5) For erecting a public comfort station, 015,000. (6) For constructing an incinerator, 040,000. (7) To pay the City's share of the cost of constructing sanitary sewers, $100,000. (8) To pay the City's share of the cost of constructing storm sewers, *75,000. (9) For deepening the channel and turning basin of the Qity; a harbor, $100,000. (0) For constructing a fire alarm extension and a hydrant trd high psess.are system, $75,Q00.' NOW, THEREFORE, DE IT ORDAINED 3Y THE C0 4I6IoN OF THE CITY OF MIAidI Section Is That subject to the ratification by the vote of a majority of the electors who are owners of real or personal property in the City of Miami,, and who shall have paid the taxes • 4 therein for the year when such taxes were last due, voting separately upon each of the eleven bond issues hereinafter mentioned, at an election to be herd on the .,:, .,..20111,__ day of .t,�...... 5�arh .. :,w, ram, which ie hereby galled, the negotiable bonds of the City of Miami shall be issued as follows: (a) Not exceeding t750,000 for acquiring an adequate supjly of wholesome water for the use of the City and its inhabitants, said bonds to mature as follows: 430,000 in 1932 and $40,000 annually, 1933 to 1950 inclusive, so that all thereof shall have matured within the probable life of said improvements, which probable life is now estimated and declared to be 30 years from July 1 ,1923. (b) Not exceeding $1,0v0,000 for acquiring and improving lands for public park purposes, said bonds to mature as follows: $50,000 annually, 1940 to 1950, inclusive, 4200, 000 in 1952 and t350, 000 in 1953 lrintcvca:, so that all thereof shall have matured within the probable life of said improvements, which probable life is now estimated and declared to be 30 years from July 1923.
