MINUTES OF THE "TING OF THE BOARD OP COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF =Am, FLORIDA.
On the 7th day of June, A. D. 1923, the Commission of the City of Miami met in pur-
suanee to an adjournment on June 6th, 1923, at the City Hall in Miami, Florida, at 12.
o'clock noon, there being present the following:
C. D. Leffler, J. E. Lummus, J. I. Wilson, E. 0. Romfh.
ABSENT: E. 0. I ornfh, o was out of the City.
TAKEN BY EACH COMPdISSIOUR
Eaoh Commissioner took and subscribed the oath of office which said oath was in the fol-
lowing form:
I, , City Commissioner of the City
of Miami., Florida, do solemnly swear that I will sup-
port, protect and defend the Constitution and Laws of
the United States and of the State of Florida, and in
all respects faithfully discharge the duties of the of-
fice of City Commissioner of the City of Miami.

VOTE THEREON TIED
Mr. Lummus stated that as ho understood it the Commission was yet unorganized and that
nominations for Chairman of the Board of Commissioners and Mayor were in order and there-
upon nominated for said office i:r. J. I. Wilson. Upon being put to a vote by Mr. Lummus
the vote thereon was as follows: Ayes: Messrs. Lummus and Wilson. Nose: Masers . Le£-,.
fler and Gilman. Vote tied and no election. LI'. Lummus stated that since the vote wINs
a tie the Commission would necessarily have to wait until :Ir. Romfh returned in order
to elect a Mayor and Jhairman. Thereupon upon motion duly made and seconded the meet-
ing was adjourned.
