MINUTES OF THE IZETING OF THE COMMISSION OP THE CITY OP MIAMI, FLORIDA.
On the 6th day of June, A. D. 1923, the Commission of the City of Miami met in
pursuance to an adjournment on June 5th, at the City* Hall in Miami., Florida, at 9:00
o'clock a. m., there being present the following: C. D. Leffler, J. E. Lummus,
J. I. Wilson, J. H. Gilman.
ABSENT: E. C. Romfh, who was out of the City.
CANVASS OF RETURNS OF INSPECTORS AND CL4RI:,S REGULAR LZW.ICIPAL ELECTION OF JUNE 5TH
The Commission havi.n.c, adjourned from June 5th, 1923, and the regular municipal eleo-
tion for the election of Commissioners having been held on the first Tuesday in June,
A. D. 1923, being June 5th, 1923, and the custodian of the ballot boxes used at said
election having presented the same to the Commission properly sealed as required by
law, thereupon the said ballot boxes were opened and the returns of the election with
the certificates of the Inspectors and Clerks withdrawn and the said returns canvassed.
Thereupon the certificates of the various Inspectors and Clerks were, on motion duly
made and seconded, incorporated by the Clerk in these minutes and are as follows:

of all votes cost at said election for City Commissioners and are hereby declared to

Director of Finance be ,and he is hereby authorized and directed to pay
to Thomas R. Shipp J; Company the sum of 4,500.00 from the 1923 Publicity
Fund.
Motion by Idr. Gilman, seconded by Mr. Wilson, that the said resolution be passed and
adopted. 0n roll call the vote thereon vss as follows: Ayes: Messrs. Leffler, Lum-
mus, Gilman, Wilson. hoes' hone. notion unanimously carried and the said resolution
passed and adopted.

on motion of Mr. Wilson, seconded by Lr. Gilman, was read in full. Motion by Mr. Wil-
son, seconded by Mr. Gilman, tint the said ordinance be passed ondadopted on its second
and final. reading. On roll call the vote thereon was es follows: Ayes: Leffler, Lum-
mus, Gilman, ;ail^on. Does: Done. Motion unanimously carded and the said Ordinance
passed and adopted on its second and final reading as read. In accordance with Resolu-
tion No. .iFF, passed and adopted 1'ebruary 28th, 1922, the said ordinance is numbered
174 and is crown in 0rdinance B:,ok 1 at page/35-as passed and adopted by the Commission.

An Ordinance entitled:
"AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE DEDICATION OP THE

CLUB ADDITION".
was introduced by Lr. Wilson, and on motion of ir. Gilman, seconded by Lir. Lummus, it
was resolved that the Charter requirement for readings of ordinances on two separate
occasions be, and is hereby, dispensed with. The vote on said resolution was as fol-
lows: Ayes: Messrs. Lefler, Lummus, Wilson, Gilman. Noes: Done. The vote being a
four -fifths vote, as required by the charter for dispensing with two separate readings
on different occasions, the motion was carried unanimously and said resolution passed.
Thereupon motion of LIr. Wilson, seconded by I7r. Lummus, the said ordinance was given
its first reading and read by title only. I..otior. by ::r. Lummus, seconded by Er. Wil-
son, that the said ordinance be ;massed nn its first reading. Roll called and the vote
thereon ran as follows: AyesMessrs. Lummus, Leffler, Wilson, Gilman. Noes: None.
Motion unanimously carried anthe said ordinance passed on its first reading. 0n mo-
tion of '.:r. ;;Ilan, seconded by :.r. Lummus, the said ordinance was put en its second
and final reads and .read in full. Lotion by Lr. ;/1 son, seconded by Ir. Gilman,that
the said ordinance be passed and adopted can its second and final reading in full. On
roll call the vote was as follows: ayes; Messrs. Lummus, Leffler, Gilman, Wilson.
Loes: None. Lotion unenimonsly carried and the said ordinance passed and adopted. In
accordance with Resolution No. 1F5, passed and adopted February 28th, 1923, the said
ordinance is numbered 173 and is shorn in ordinance Book 1 at pagePW-as passed and
adopted by the 2:or:imission.

At 10:20 a. m., there being no further business to Dome before the Commission at this
meeting, on motion duly made and seconded, the meeting was adjourned until 12:00 O'clock
noon June 7th, 1923.
