D. 1923, the City Commission of the City of Miami met at the City Hall in Miami, Florida, at 9:00 o'clock a. m., in pursuance of an adjournment from a regular meeting on May 1, 1923, there being present the following: C. D. Leffler, J. E, Lummus, E. C. Romfh. ABSENT: Jas. H. Gilman and J. I. Viilson, who wore out of the City. CANVASSING RETURNS AND CERTIFYING RESULTS OF ELECTION CITY COMMISSION PRIMARY At this meeting the returns, the certificates of the inspectors and clerk, the tally sheets and ballots of the primary election hold on Tuesday, May 1, 1923, having been delivered to the City Commission, the City Commission did canvass the said election returns and do cer- tify that the same are in every respect regular. It is further certified that eleven (11) votes were thrown out and not counted on ac- count of being marked on the wrong side or otherwise defaced or spoiled. It is further certified that the total nu::,ber of votes cast at said election for the nomination of candidates for the office of Commissioner was eleven hundred twenty-one (1121) votes, and the City Commission finds and certifies that the said election was fairly held according to the provisions of the law and that the said returns of the inspectors and the clerk were found to be correct. It is further certified that the following candidates received the following votes: Baker, Leland 319 Gardner, i . C 303 Gilman, Jas. H. 665 Leffler, C. D. C17. Lummus, J. E 851 Orr, John B 667 Robbins, W. R 354 Romfh, .. . . . . . . 589 Wilson, '. I. 732• 0n motion of J. E. .Lummus, seconded by 3. O. Romfh, it was resolved that the names of Leland Baker, 2. C. Gardner, J. H. Gilman, C. D. Leffler, J. E. Lummus, J. B. Orr, W. 2. Robbins, E. C. Romfh and J. I. Wilson, be placed upon the ballots in alphabetical order as candidates for the office of Commissioner at the municipal election to be held on the first Tuesday in June, 19,33, to -wit: on June 5th, 1923. Be it farther resolved that the returns of the said inspectors and the clerk, includ- ing the ballot:, tally sheets, oaths of office and certificate of election, be replaced in the said ballot box and that the same be sealed and be kept in the possession of the City Clerk as custodian thereof. 01 roll call the vote was as follows: `.
