MINUTES OF TEE MEETING OF THE COZ,'il.IISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA. On the 2nd day of January, A. D. 1923, the Commission of the City of Miami met in regu- lar session at the City Hall in Miami, Florida, in pursuance of an adjournment on De- cember 19th, 1922. The meeting was called to order at 9:00 o'clock a. m. by Chairman Leffler, and on roll call the following members were present: C. P. Leffler, J. E. Lumps, J. I. Wilson, J. H. Gilman, • E. C. Romfh. READING OF THE MINUTES OF DECEMBER 19, 1922. The Clerk road the mir..utes of the meeting of December 19th, 1922, which wore approved and accepted as written. COMPLAINT OF 1IRS. J. E. BOTSFORD IN RE SEWER OUTLET AT BAY Lire. J. E. Botsford appeared before the Commission in reference to tho Sanitary Sewer outlet at the foot of 22nd Terrace not being carried nut far enough into the Bay to pro- perly riispose of the sewage, and requested that steps be taken to extend the pipe. Mrs. Botsford was given assurance that the matter would be investigated. PROPERTY LINE ON S. SECOND AVEINUE AS SET BY PROPOSED ;'cIDENING :.ir. L. A. :cG]:ar_ appeared before the Commission, stated that he was about to erect a building on S. "r. Second Avenue, rend asked whether or not the property lines, as would be fixed in the proposed widening of that Street, hacl been established. 1:.r. McGhan was told that there had been no definite action taken or lines established. City Commission, Miami, Fla. Gentlemen: Some time ago the matter came up in reference to lot "A" situated between blocks 45 and 40 of Idlewild Park, the said lot blooking the ex- tension of SW 4th St. into SW 22nd Avenue. The matter eras referred to the City Attorney and he reports that the title to this lot is still vested In the Brigham Realty Company. I tool: this matter up with Mrs. Brigham of the Brigham Realty Com- pany and she has offered to pay up all tho back taxes acsd liens and deed this lot to the C1t:r for 000.00. I also tool: up v:ith her at the same time lot "X" located between blocks 43 and 44 of Idlewild Park which blocks the e::tension of SW 19th Avenue, towards the south. I,irs. Brigham also offered to clean this lot up of all back taxes and liens and to sell it to the City for 300.00. I believe it would bo advisable for the City to acquire these two lots now while they can be bought at this figure. Yours very truly, F. H. November e9th you passed' Resolution No. 271 authorizing the City Clerk to advertise for bids on curb and gutter around the parkways on Brice:ell. Ave. under Highway Improvement H-190, bids to be received on this work on December l9th at 2 :.'oloc: a. m. This resolution was somehow: overlooked and the over- sieht wee not discovered until too late to advertise for bids to be received at the ti :e specified. A. .Pelsang ac'dressed a letter to you, in viioh he ask- ed the City to bear the expense of moving his office building and one of his marine railvays off the five foot strip of land the City recently acquired from the Prickel] ;state for street purposes. This ,T,rnu referred to me for investigation, and I f-incl that Mr. Pelsang has sold his rroperty at t%:is place to other parties, and the new purchasers do not want any compensation from the City a: they understood when they bought it they v;r.iald have to vacate this 'five foot etrip at their own expense. Junkin have executed their deed to pro- perty in Goldcourt which was desired for the purpose of opening and extending Northeast Third Avenue. Gentlemen: In pursuance of Section 31 of the City Charter I hereby recap., mend that the City make appropriations for the current expenses of the City, chargeable to the appropriations of the year when passed, to an amount sufficient to cover the necessary expenses of the various depart- ments, divisions and offices until the annual appropriation ordinance is in force.
