APPROVING OPINION OF CHEWER B. LASSLIOH $400,000 BOND ISSUB
The City Attorney presented the final approving opinion of 0. B. Maaelioh, under
date of February 1, 1922, approving the p$400 000 City of Miami, Florida, Municipal
Improvement Bonds. J. E. Lummus moved that the opinion be plaoed in the minutes.
This motion was ascended by J. I.Wilson and upon roll oall the vote was as follower

pursuant t the Charter of the Oity of Miami, end that the said
bonds constitute valid and binding obligations of aaid City of
all the taxable property within which is subject to the
levy of a tax to pay the same.

Section 1. That the Director of Finance be and he is here-
by authorized and direoted to pay the bill of the United States Mort -
Rage & Trust Company for servioes in relation to the preparation and
oertifioation of $400,000 Municipal Improvement Bonds in the stun of
$619.94.
Soation 2. That the sum of .619.94 be and is hereby appro-

THE ISSUANCE OF BONDS OF THE CITY OF MIAMI.
WHEREAS, the City Commission deeme it advisable to issue bonds of
the City in the sun; of seven hundred thousand dollars ($700,000) in the
following amounts for the following municipal purpoee0:'

NOW, TREK 'ORE, BE iT ORDAINED by the Commission of the City of
Miami:
Section 1. That, subjeot to the ratification by the vote of a ma-
jority of the eleotore who are owners of real or personal property in
the Oity of Miami, and who shall have paid the taxes thereon for the
year when euoh taxes were last due, voting separately upon eaoh of the
twelve bond issues hereinafter mentioned, at an election to be held
March 7, 1922, which is hereby called, the negotiable bonds of the City
of Miami shall be issued as follows:
(a) Not exceeding thirty thousand dollars (030,000) for a trnunioi-
pal building as an addition to the prevent city hall. Said bonds to ma-
ture as follows: Three Thousand dollars (43,000) annually, 1933 to
1942, inclusive, eo that all thereof shall have matured within the pro-
bable life of said improvements, which probable life is now estimated
and declared to be 20 years from April 1, 1922.
(b) Not exceeding twenty thousand dollars (420,000) for motor
equipment for Street Department and asphalt repair plant for Street De-
partment. Said bonds to mature as follows: Five Thousand dollare
( 5,00C) anrual.ly, 1923 to 1926, inclusive, so that all thereof shall
have :natured within the probab„.e life of said improvements, whioh pro-
bable life is now estimated and declared to be 5 years from April 1,
1922.
(o) Not exceeding twenty-five thousand dollars (425,000) for a
building for the Fire Department and motor equipment for the Pire De-
partment. Said bonds to mature as follows: Two Thousand dollars
2,000) annually, 1923 to 1936, inclusive, and seven thousand dollars
(7,000) in 1937, so that all thereof shall have matured within the
probable life cf said improvements, Which probable life is now esti-
mated and declared to be 15 years from April 1, 1922.
(d) Not exoeeding twenty-five thousand dollars (445,000) for oon-
struJtion cf and equipment for park. Said bonds to mature as follows:
Twenty-five thousand dollars (445,000) in 1937, so that all thereof
shall have matured within the probable life of said improvements, which
probable life is now estimated and declared to be 25 years from April
1, 1922.
(e) Not exceeding seventy-five thousand dollars ($75,000) for the
erection of additional buildings for hospital purposes and equipment
therefor. Said bonds to :mature as follows: Seven thousand dollars
( 7,0'00) annually, 1943 to 1951, inclusive, and Twelve thousand dollars
(y'14,o00) in 195E, so that all thereof shall have matured within the

probable life of said improvements, which probable life is now estima-
ted and declared to be 30 years from April 1, 1922.
(f) Not exceeding twenty-five thousand dollars 426,000) for the

1951, inclusive, and seven thousand dollars (47,000) in 1952, so that

Seotion 4. That all of the said bonds, if issued, shall bear
interest at not exceeding six per oentum, payable semi-annually, and
both prinoipal and interest shall be payable at United States Mort-
gage and Trust Company in the City of New York, and said bonds shall
be in the denomination of $1,000.00.
9eotion 3. That a special eleotion is hereby called and direot-
ed to be held at the city hall in the City of Miami, from eight o'
olook a. m. to sun down on the 7th day of Maroh, 1922, for the pur-
pose of submitting to a vote of those electors who are owners of real
or personal property in the City of Miami and who shall have paid
the taxes due thereon for the year in which such taxes were last due,
and twelve separate questions as to whether said twelve bond issues
respectively ::hall be ratified and authorised.
Section 4. That the City Clerk will open the registration
book° for said election from 10:00 o'clock a. m. until noon on Febru-
ary 16th, 1922, and each day (Sundays excepted) thereafter until
Maroh 6, 19i , in his offioe, on which last day ouoh books shall re-
main open all day for the purpose of rogisterinz those persons who
are qualified to register for such election.
Section 5. That F. W. Hahn, J. G. Godrnan and Norman W. Parlee
