Whereas, under a Resolution too. 1559, the City Connell
of the City of Miami) gave notice of the calling of az
election for the purpose cf electing obrrmiegioners of the
City of Miami, und¢r the Charter of said City s:lo :ted
May 17th, 1921, and

City Council Chambers of the City of Miami, Florida, from
eight o'clock a. m, to sundown on 'Tuesday the 12th d8y of
July, 1521, and
Thereaa, it is provided further in paid resolution,
that there shall be four (4) sets o." tables and booths in
operation for said election, and whereas the clerks end in-
spectors for said election where duly nerved in ra d peso-

on the 16th day of June, A. D. 1921, by resolution increased
the number of sets of tables to six (6) , and the number of
booths to thirty-six, and
Whereas; it is the opinion of the City Council that the
number of qualified electors who ;will participate in said
election, or who are qualified to participate in said election,
will exceed eight thousand voters, and thlt the sets of tables
and booths heretofore designated will be i roufficient to
allow the vote of the electors to be expeditiously, convenient.•

Whereas, it is the opinion of the City Council t'ha.t the
City Co'sncil Ch u ter is not large enough to acco odate the
large number of voters who will be and are qualified to vote
at said election, and
Whereas it is the opinion of the City Council, that tlacx a
full and fair expression of the wishes of the voters cannot
be had unless larger facilities are accorded the voters for
the purpose of casting, their ballots at said election, and
Whereas, it is the opinion of the City Council that
the health and welfare of the citizens of the City of :.:iami,
Florida, will le better su bserved by providing additions/
po?.ling places, booths; tables, inspectors and clerks, and
Whereas; it is the opinion of the City Council that
an emergency has arisen requiring the passage of t',:is ordio-

Section. 1. THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED, that the acid election
be held at the City Hall, in the Council Chambers and also on
the plot of ground adjacent to said City H 11, . on the
West and on the South thereof, and Central Fire Station, and
that sheltered polling places ,..e provided, for said electors, ansi

Seotion 2. That in addition to the inspectors and clerks
heretofore provided for, that there shall be six additional

as Clerk; and Geo. ii. Speed, Si A. Kagey and D.A. MacDougall
are hereby appointed and designated as i epeotore; and that
at table 10. ;7►T. Callahan is hereby aprointed and designated
as Clerk; and no T. Pyfrora; W. V. B ackwe11 abd Fred. J. Conrad
are hereby appointed and designated as inspectors; and that at
table 11. t. C. Hills is hereby appointed and designated as
dlerk; and John Farley, Thos, L. Jackson and R.E. Brown are
heresy appointed, and designated ae inspectors; and that at
table 12. C. A. peters is hereby appointed and designated as
Clerk; and Geo.A. Reynolds, Chas. F. Filer and Geo. Marshall
are hereby appointed and designated as inspectors; and that the
City Clerk is hereby directed to certify the additional names
o,f eudi inspectors and clerks of said election to the Mayor
of the City of Miami.
Seotion 4. That the City Council shall cause this ordinance
to be published daily in a newspaper published in the City of
for at least fifteen days before the day of holding of
said election, and that the first insertion thereof shall be
in the Miami Daily herald, on the 25th day of June, A. D. 1921,
and d.1y thereafter in said paper up to and including xtemi
the llth day of July, A. D. 1921; and that such publication
thereof shall constitute notice of the appointment of the said
additional clerks and inspectors; and of the enlaxgeement of the
said polling place at 'v ich said election is to be held.
Section 5. That this Ordinance shall go into effect immediately
