A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION WAIVING THE TEN (10)
DAY PER ORGANIZATION, PER YEAR SPECIAL EVENT MAXIMUM WAIVER
FOR EVENTS ON THE PUBLIC PROPERTY PURSUANT CHAPTER
52/ARTICLE I OF THE CODE OF CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA, AS AMENDED,
TITLED "SPECIAL EVENTS/SPECIAL EVENTS PERMIT" TO ALLOW FOR THE
RESERVE PADEL MIAMI SPECIAL EVENT WHICH IS HELD AT 1000
MACARTHUR CAUSEWAY, TO CONTINUE FROM MAY 22, 2025 THROUGH
DECEMBER 31, 2025.
SPONSOR(S): Mayor Francis X. Suarez
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 52-2(h) of the Code of the City of Miami, Florida, as
amended ("City Code"), titled "Special Events in General; Duration and Limitations; City
Commission Waiver," Special Events on the public right of way shall be permitted up to ten (10)
calendar days per organization, per year; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 52-2(i), "The above limitations on Special Events may
be waived by an affirmative vote of the City Commission for the calendar year affected. Any
such additional Permit(s), however, will be limited to fourteen (14) consecutive days at a time";
and
WHEREAS, on May 9, 2024, the City Commission granted Reserve Padel Miami a
temporary event wavier under Resolution R-24-0185; and
WHEREAS, the lessee at the public property located at 1000 MacArthur Causeway,
Miami, Florida ("Event Site") wishes to continue to host two more, two week padel ball events
that are part of Reserve Padel Miami ("Event") to provide clinics and open play to both children
and adults and well as tournament play; and
WHEREAS, the Event Site will exhaust its current allowable Special Event limitation time
by May 22, 2025; and
WHEREAS, due to the success of Padel Reserve Events at the Event Site, the Event
wishes to continue for the remainder of the year, and, as such, requires a City Commission
waiver from May 22, 2025 through December 31, 2025; and
WHEREAS, the Event at the Event Site is required to maintain compliance with all City
laws and abide by all life -safety and quality of life laws that are imposed by each permit or
required under State, County or Local law; and
WHEREAS, the Event at the Event Site will be beneficial to the City's residents and
visitors;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are
adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. Pursuant to Section 52-2(i), titled "Special Events in General; Duration and
Limitations; City Commission Waiver," the ten (10) day limitation per organization, per year for a
Special Event pursuant to Section 52-2(h) is hereby waived from May 22, 2025 through
December 31, 2025.
Section 3. This Resolution does not waive any other requirements of the City Code,
including but not limited to, noise restrictions, applicable fees, inspections, and permits.
Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption.
