The ohisf knows more•about the matter then we do as to who is best fitted for the place. Chief Chase: I can hardly eay more than I have said in the letter. I consider Mr Coleman the losical man to put in the position and am sure if he receives that confidence of oouno he will make you an energetio and trustworthyofficial. Chief Chase: The position I ex7act to take is due to changed conditions in the last day or two and I am obliged to go at onoe, but if you don't accept my resignation to tight I - we willine to ,tey and secrifioe my job - in fact I will do so if you oan not accept my resiznatiOn, but if 5/-.:u can put Coleman in as acting ohief I would appreciate that. Not that I Aart to run off and leave but I would like to leocetft the now position.
