STREET CROSSINGS OVR P. E. C. RAILWAY COMPANY'S TRACKS.
The matter of the physical c•,ndition of thei several crossings over the Florida East Con 4]
Railway Company's tracks were discussed and also the question of protection to the travel -
lng ublio et such crossings, espeoially at Seventh Street and Avenue D, and the Clerk
Hi was instructed to oommunioate with Vioe-President Beokwith of the Florida East Coast Rail*
Way Company and inform Mr. Beckwith that it was the City's desires'that these crossings be`;
graded and paved at once and sidewalks laid from the right of way, gates installed at
Seventh Street and an eleotrio alarm bell installed at Avenue D crossing.
C0;?DITIO1: OF WEST TWELFTF STREET OWING TO CONSTRUCTION OF STREET RAILWAY "'TRACKS.
This matter was discussed at length and it seems that a great deal of delay has ensued
by reason of the Street Railway Company not having sufficient quantity of brick to pave
the street between their tracks and there also seemed to be some confusion as to who had
SOven the Street Railway company permission to tear up the street, they claiming that the
treet Committeeman had authorized the work and Fe sneer Klyoe, it seems, had instructed
that the street be not torn up until sufficient material was on hand to replace it without
delay. After some further discussion it was decided that the Mayor be requested to
personally look after the matter of replacing the street in ,=.00d share where the same had_
been torn up for the purpose of lay:.n the Street Railway'a tracks.
kayor Watson stated that he would Set behind the matter and work in conjunction with the
City Engina.r and Street Committeeman and insist that this work be done in a businesslike
way.
SIDEWALKS A"' CORNER OF BOULEVARD A"D EIMTH STREET.
This matter was brought up by Councilman Rorafh, who stated that he had noticed ecrae criti-
cism in the newspapers with respect to the failure of the owners of eroperty at the corner
of the Boulevard and right Street to ccnetruot concrete sidewalks, or the failure of the
City to include this property in the sidewalk district reoently ccntrected for.
City Clerk,,coore, explained th_.t :dr. A. P. Warner who owns the property on the South-west
corner told him he wcuie build the walks but ha:: never done ao and City engieeer Klyce
was ir.etruced to prepare the neceaeeery plans to have this side walk built at once.
