When the uuoessary information upon which tOTvredioate plans for this wont has boon
scoured and plaoed in my hands, I will prepare plans and speoifioations for up to data
docks with tracks and proper equipment for interchange of oommsroe between rail and wstsw
oommsros, and I will undertake to have this work properly supervised and inspeoted, to
end that first olass work oomforaing to the tplans shall be performed. I will owe* oarr ful: -
measursment of all work done, to be made and *soh month will cause estimates of the work:4040
to Woods and oortified to the City for payment. I will visit the work as often as my
personal attention to it is hooded and will oarsful3,y safeguard the interests of both
City of Miami and the Contractor doing the work. For this ssrviot, together with thit
of making a proper report of the conclusions I reach after a proper study of ths conditions,
I will charge as my oompensation five (5%) per Dent of the cost of the Work. IMhsn the,

"RESOLUTION NO.861
WHEREAS, the City of Miami and Messrs. Harrington, Howard and Ash aoting through
W. J. aaokley, their authorised agent, entered into a oontraot on the day of
Yaroh,1915 to maks preliminary etudies and draw the plan for bridge over the Miami
River at Avenue D and at Twelfth Street and eupertise the oonetruotion of said bridge
work, as shown by said contract.
NOW,THERETORE, SE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Miani,Florlda,
that said firm be and is hereby•authorissd and instructed to proceed with the preparation of
final designs, as provided for in section 6 of said oontraot aforesaid.

July 1, principal and interest payable in gold in New York City Denomination 1,000.00.

Legality of bonds will be approved by Caldwell, Masslioh and Reed, New York,
City, whose favorable opinion will be furnished to purohasers without *barge. The
bonds will be prepared under the supervision of the United States Mortgage and
Trust Company, New York City, who will certify as to the genuineness of the signa-
tures of the oity offioials signing the bonds and the seal impressed thereon, Bids
must be on blank forms which, together with other information, will be furnished by the undersigned
or said Trust Company. Zaoh b*d must be accompanied by a oertiflsd check to the
order of the undersigned for Si% of the amount bid for. No bid of less than
ninety seven cents on the dollar and accrued interest will be entertained. Bonds
will be delivered in Miami or New York at purohaseros option, on September 18. The
right to reject any or all bids is reserved. All of above bonds are by law dsolared
general, absolute and direot obligations of the City, whioh law requires an annual

Oounoilman Ralston called attention to the faot that recent audit of the Oity's books
showed $54 000.00 in taxes unoolleoted, greater part of which is for reality taxes fox:
the year of 1914.
Councilman Romfh stated that there is something like 8 or 9,000.00 personal taxes
and that speo$0.1 oolleotor should be put on to look after this collection and that
the Clerk should be instructed to take action at once to look into the matter of
collecting the reality taxes and that the Mayor ought to be authorised to employ s,
son to oollsot the personal taxes.
