In the oonetruotion of the bridge across the Miami River at 19tb Street, the engineer placed the fender piling protecting the 'swinge of the bridge so close to the oast bank as to seriously interfere with the owners enjoyment of the rights and privileges appurtenant to her property. We understand that plans are now being prepared for the construction of a new ' bridge across the river at 12th Street and we desire that you call the attention or the engineer in charge or the survey to the facts herein stated, and have the fender piling for the new bridge located so as not to intorrere'with the property rights of Mrs. Erwin. PURCHASE OF GARBAGE CANS Councilman Ralston stated that the Board of Health had received bids on sanitary garbage oans, made of corrugated iron, with close fitting top, and that it is proposed to furnish one to each house in the city, that the lowest bid for the best can is $1.12 per oan and requested authority to purohase the pans tmida with sanitary bond funds. Moved by E. C. Romfh, soonded by C. Hefty, that the Board of Health is authorized to purchase the garbage owns as needed. Motion oarried. ESTABLISHING GRADE LINES FOR THE PAVING OF RICEMERS STREET Honorable City uounoil, Gentlemen: I note that work is about to be started on the paving of Riokmera 8t. Contract was let for this sometime ago before I began my work of establishing grades for: this section of the sixty; therefore, the city engineer could not modify the grade withoat instructions from yore. However, I would suggest that such instruction be given *inns it is necessary to get the proper results that all the *treats in a given section be graded" to the sassp1a91. In oonnsotion with the fixing of grades for this section I would like' to mail the attention hers of council to the fact that this will involve the taking up apd rebuilding of oafs or two sidewalks which have already been built.
