rent of the aity auditors offioo in the BurdlasiSailding, be paid, and that in future
this rent of .the auditors office and $60.00 monthly rent of the Board of health offices
in the Burdine Building, be paid' on the monthly pay -roils. Motion carried.
Oounoilman Romfh reported on the bill of Tax Assessor T A Price, for $210.00, •
and stated that the sssessorsi salary is 1160.00 per month but would.not say that suoh•
salary is or is not suffioient, but that the work, if properly done, is almost oontinuous,
and if simply copied from year to year the salary is ample; that he did not know what
if any right oounoil had to make an extra aliowanoe in ogee of a salaried saapioys unless
to oover special servios; that Mr. Price accepted the place, knowing the salary was
460.00 per month; that he had not asked the oity attorney as to the legality of the
matter but thought it irregular to ask for an additiotai amount when the assessor knew the salary
the pffioe pail and that the bill did not oover anything outside of the regular work, but
thought it might be well to ask Assessor Prioe what he did a in the way of extra work
that he would .be entitled to extra ooapensatan; A that a bill for 0501.00 had been
allowed by oounoil to oover the cost of a transcript prepared by the county tax
assessor.
Oounoilman brought up the bill of City Attorney A. J. Rose for $800:00 oovering special
servioe in oonnection with the $400,000 Bond issue and stated that it was, in his
opinion, special work and should be allowed.

0ounoilman Conrad, ai ohairman of tbs oaoo ttso oarposed of oovnoilmen Nifty, Filer
and himself, to look into the matter of band concerte, reported that the committal
desired more time in whioh to investigate the matter.
At this point Beare. 0rr and Weaver, members of the Woodmen's Band addressed
council, urging that no arrangements be made fox public aonoerts until they had an
opportunity to submit a proposition, claiming that the Woodmen's Band is an
organisation oomposed of local musioians, that it is & union band and would furnish
any kind of music desired.
Mr. Bose, of the Airdome Moving Pioture Theater addressed oounoil on the matter of
advertising by local merohants through the use of wagons or vshioles with posters or
banners and stated he had been informed bythe polio* department that a city
ordinance provided for a license tax of fa.00 for suoh advertising, but that at
the same time a minstrel show had paraded the streets with a band recently and he
had been advised that no charge was made.
There was considerable discussion and aovncilman Romfh stated that he did not believe
it was the purpose or intention of oounoil to tax a roan for using a wagon or vehicle
for advertising hie own business unless it should booms a nuisance, littering the
streets with oiroulars ooaing under another ordinanoe.
Counoilmari 0onrad stated that the street department had mad* some arrangements to move
their stables from present location in the rear of the pity hall and that he thought
the sanitary committeeman had made arrangements to move their stables also and thought
the move should be made with the least possible expense and that the Building
inspeotor.had secured ems estimates.
Building Inspector 8sltser stated that he had soured some bide for material for the
sanitary department stable, which were read as follows:

morning that he would oanfer with his oliegte to -day or to -morrow and, if the aij►
oould refund the amount deposited by them as bond, whioh was 260. in each ease,
and pay the court casts, he would recommend dismissal of the suits. From what
information I have I do not bellows plaintiffs in either lotion More any meritor-
