Counoilman Filer addressed the council on the matter of eleotrioal inpseotion, stat- ing that in ooapany with Mr. Allenan experienoed electrician, they had reoently • inspeoted some work in the new theirs on 9th Street and a reeiaenoe in Riverside, and that Mr. Allen, who was present, would inform oounoil the result of that inspect)* Mr. Allen stated that in his opinion the work was defective in both instanoes and he knew it would pot pass the Underwriter's inspection. Mr. Filer stated that until such time as the oity was in position to appoint an electrician, he would continue the work of inspection without charge. Moved by C. Hefty and seoonded by H. G. Ralston that the offer of Mr. Filer to make such inspeotion be aocepted by oounoil and that he be authorized to oontinue the work. Motion carried. Mr. Ralston advised that the Board of Health had reoently completed the survey of a large number of lots in the pity and found them in very bad condition and reoouaiended that they be cleaned at once, and that if it was legal he would offer the following motion: Moved by H. G. Ralsron and seoonded by C. F. Filer that the various lots which have been reported by the Board of Health as in an unsanitary condition, notido be sent to the owners to olean them up and if the cleaning be not done within the time prescribed, the city do .he ole:ning at the expense of the property.
