The City Clerk read the assessment against the property holders abutting
on First Street from Avenue E to the Boulevard and down the Rr,ulsvard to Seeonei.

liahing of a street ear line, to be operated in the City of Miami, 'together
with service t• near -by towns, in which Mr. Chase elates that his car line will
afford a Beryls, which will meet the pubLis demand both at the present and in the
future. Mr. Chase clainiei for his ears first, that we do mot ask for F franehis

The Rork informed Council that John Frshssk had tendered • cheek
of Sixty Dollars to the city for the payment of three street csrtifisates,
which hod been issued sgaimst his property in 1907, for paving. That this
asa•unt only severed the amount of liens and ssurt seats, and Mr. Frshssk asked
that he be relieved of the interest .
Chief Committeemen Conrad explained to Counsil that the reason Mr.Frohssk
had never paid this easement was because that he hod never been satisfied with
the way in which the paving had been done, and that he mid recommend that
Kr. Frohssk be relieved of the interest and the matter settled.

A crossing is needed on Eleventh Street where it. crosses the Florida
East Co eat Railway Comp any' a line of track.
This is en important street, travelled extensively, with resident property
owners living both east and west of the line of r eilro ed, and the convenience
of the public demandethe crossing that is asked for, and proper steps should
be taken by your honorable body on behalf of the city and of the public to
initiate all such condemnation proceedings as may ne necessary for the purpose of
constructing acid maintaining a crossing.

We the property holders on 16th Street between
Ave. J. and Ave. K. respectfully petition Your Honorable Body to lay a sewer on said stree
There is a sewer now being put in on 16th Street from J. to the River and asbhe
p art of 16th Street from J. to K. is building up very rapidly and the connection
can oe easily made we respectfully petition your Honorable Body to have thia work
done at once. We agree to pay our share of the cost as soon as the work is completed.

Finance Committeeman Romfh explained to Council that at the present
time the Sewer fund was low in cash end that it would be impossible to do any more
worx until more funds are available. The petition was received and filed.
D. C. Caddigen ppoke in reference to obtaining a franchise fcr a street railway
in the city.
Council discussed the proposition for sometime and H. R. Chase also addressed
Council in reference to a line of cars that he was going to ineu:urate about April '.et.
Councilrian Conrad was in favor of a street car line through the city only and thought
the Chase proposition ought to oe tried out before ally other franchise was given, end
made the Poll owing motion:
T..at Council on record as favoring the Chase proposition. Mr. Conrad's motion
was not seconded and was lost. After discussing it from all Bides, the following
motion was made:

and the City Attorney meet with the promotors of the Str<<et Car Company informally,
and go over the situation. Motion carried.

Watson had accepted the cash tendered for the unused llgior licenses.
A bill against the city of A. T. Carter for $7.00 for interest on a bill•o uunber
purchased from him and was not paid for at the specified time was presented to CSOV.1,

after advertising for bids that way, end reoommend6"•d the payment of the bill.

The Committeemen on Sanitation advised Council that the gentlemen
who installed the incinerator wee going to make another teat with it end he would

width of thirty-four feet, in accordance with the profiles, details, drawings and
speeifications of the City Engineer end approved and adopted by the City Council,
for the sum of "$1800. '0, being the lowest and best bid therefor, be and the same is hereby
accepted, and the owitract for said improvement is hereby awarded to J. D. 0odman, said
contractor to execute a bond to be approved by the City Attorney for the proper performance
of the contract as provided for in the resolution ordering said improvements and the adver-
tisement for bins thereunder.
