Regular meeting of council called to order by the chairman: Members present

A communication was read from James T.Sanders asking council to 11 12th
street from avenue L to 1. citing that the property owners would furnish the oil.
and to give them perms scion to close up 12th street Prom L to M. long enough
for the oil to take.
Moved by C.'te*ty and seconded by C.F.Filer that rommunion be referred to
committeemen on streets with power to act. Motion carried.
We,the undersigned property owners on 1 t1 street west oe the Railroad,hereby
petition your honorable body ,objecting to tearing up and improving that portion of the
street,as it hes recently been paved and .s in perfect condition. We hereby give you
notice that we will not pay eor same unless you are winners in the eourta,as v.e will
contest it.

Imnteeietely after this petition was preser.ted,another petition signed by tee
property owners adjoining the park was ree1,protesting against council granting; the
ahove,citing that they bought their property under the iepreseion that '•+ao to to for a
city park,ani they dire not think that this property should be encroached upon by any
pri'rate individual or club,or he used in any way except for par purposes. the sole
purpose for which this land was bought by the city.
This petition was shooed by Prank oallatt and 22 others.

in reference to the petitton,citing; teat the Roy Scouts were up against it for a
place to build upon,and they appealed to council in behalf of the Roy eceat eoirerent,
Wm. Punwor.th spoke against the proposition,end said twist evevyone who had signed
wes in fevor of helping t e Roy Scout Moveent,and would go in their poc!-ets to help
the: ,hut they did not think the park the proper place for such n huilding.
Moved by Tt.C.Ralston end seconded by E.C.Romfh that the ratter he referred to the
Committeemen on Parks end Docks for investigation. Potion carried.

reading.

reading and read in full. Motion carried.The ordinance was read in 1.u11 as follows.

Councilman Ralston said as all the oouncllmen were invited to attend H
banquet at the Dowd of ?rade Rooms,and asked that council adjourn until tomorrow
night ,the benquet being tendered to the Tnsurance Agents,anrs he thought council
could gather a lot of valuable information from then.
