Miaml,Fla.May 15,1913.
Regular meeting of council tailed to order by the chairman, F.R.Erfert.
Members present: F.G.Erfert, C.Fiefty, R.O.Watson,'.C.Romfh,J.A.Conrad and E.F.Holmes.
The chairman notified council that the mayor had been out of town more
than three days and as he was the acting Mayor, the first duty would be tie election
of a temporary chairr an.
Moved by F.C.Romfh and seconded by J.A.Conrad that C.Hefty be elected
temporary chairman. ':lotion carried. Mr C.Fiefty presided over the meeting.
Mr. A.A.Boggs representing the Miami and South Florida Interurban Railway
Company,presented a street car francbise,which he read for information and commenting
on the various sections. Mr. Boggs then delivered the Ordinance to council to investi-
gate and sanction its approval at some later meeting. Providing council was satisfied
with it. The clerk read the ordinance in full for inforrtation,after which the *ollowig
motion was made:
Moved by J.A.Conred and seconded by R.O.Watson that the ordinance as
read by the c ty clerk be filed, and the city attorney be instructed to confer with th
the grantee and put the ordinance in shape for its fist reading ,making the changes
as would be recommended to him by council .Motion carried.
Mr. Abel addressed council and noted the change in the arbitration clause
of the new charter and endeavored to exlain why it should be inserted..

Gentlemen:
From the statement of Mr. Kolb and Mr Combs in regard to the in lebtedness
of ".fir. Cons to the city in regard to cemetery lots, I cannot a''rive at anything
defininte as to the indebtedness.
Mr. Combs advises that he is willing to leave the matter with Mr. Hefty
and the City attorney and abide by what they conclude he owes the city,after investi-
gation. The letter written t, your body by Mr.Kolb is herewith enclosed.

Moved by E.C.Romfh and seconded by C.AeCbnrad that the natter of adjust et
f the claim of the cite against the W.H.Coms Co. for cemetery lots purchased by hit,
and which Mr. volb claims he still owes for,be referred to the city attorney and the
Connnitteema oe Sanitation ,with power to act. Motion carried.
The Committeeman on streets recommended that one light be placed on the
corner Of loth street and Avenue If, and one hetween K.and L. on loth Street.
And one at the corner of loth Street and Avenue L. and one on Tenth street between
Avenue L and M.
Mowed by F. C.Romfh and seconded by R.O.Wat'.on that the recommendation of
the Committeeman on streets be accepted, and the lights ordered placed. Moti n carried
The chairman ordered an adjournment until MJnday night, Mayl9th.1913.
