Herewith I beg to submit our bill to cover sundry disbursements for
account of the river dredging Department, during the nonth of October1912,oatoene
t-
ing to $4,252.33. This bill is supported by detail statement show.nghitos who tl is
amounts were paid- the nature of the disbursement,
and supported by properly audited and approved vouchers on file under the audit numbers
given, in the accounting department of this Company. Access may be had to these
vouchers at anytime, anct any further information ,relative to this detail, will be
gladly supplied.

H and I, respectfully represent tat V. Street is paved from Avenue .1 to its inter-
section with Avenue I,
the paving.

Moved by J.A.Conrad and seconded by F.C.Romfh that petition be received
and bids advertised for, and tr a city engineer be instructed to prepare profile
and specifications for same. 'lotion carried.
To the Honorable Membere of the City Council,

Q'entlemen;
Whereas we, the undersigned, taxpayers and property owners, waning property
fronting on Avenue P from First street soot to Fort Dallas Par' , for ourselves arui
the general public, dm see the urgent need of the opening of. Avenue B as a main
thorofare from Biscayne Drive,to the business section of Miami, without interruption
and desiring to assist in accomplishment of the above insofar as the said Avenue lies
within the city limits, do hereby respectfully petitio n your honorable body to take
such steps as may be necessary to open up Avenue B between Fifth and Sixth ;streets,
across the gro.4nds recently occupied by the old passenger depot of the 'lorida Feet
Coast Railway Company, to cause same to be greded,rocked and opened to the public.

Moved by J.A.McDonald 'end seconded by J.A.Conrad that petition he
received, and the city attorney be instructed to investigate the matte', and report
the status of the case to council atsome later meeting. Motion carried.
Councilman Romfh who introduced an ordinance having to do with the con-
struction of side wa lks asNed permission to withdraw the said ordinance .
Moved by R.O.Watson and seconded by C.'Iefty that the request of \'r. Romfh b
be complied with. Motion carried.
Councilman Romfh who i.ntroiduced an ordinance hsving to do with the pro-
posed issuance by the city of Miami of one hundred thousand dollars in b onda for
improvements, asked permission to withdraw the same, which request was unanimously
granted by the council.
Moved by C.hefty and seconded by J.A.McDonald that the request of Mr.
Romfh be granted,and the Bond ordinance be withdrawn. Motion carried.
In lieu of the aide walk ordinance withdrawn,Councilman Romfh introduced
the following sidewalk ordinance: An ordinance relating to the construction of side-
walks and curbs in the City of M1ami,F1nrida, and providing a penalty for the viola-
tion thereof.
Moved by J.A.McDonald and seconded by J.A.Conrad that the above ordinance
be given its first reading and read in full. Motion carried. The ordinane was read in
full.
Moved by E.F.Holmes and seconded by C.Hefty that the ordinance be given
its second reading and read by title only. Motion carried. The ordinance was read by
title only.
In lieu of the bond ordinance withdrawn by E.C.Romfh,the following Bond
Ordinance was introduced by him.
Moved by 0.A.Conrad and seconded by C.Hefty that the ordinance be given
its first reading and read in full. 'lotion carried. The ordinance was read in full.
Moved by J.A.McDonald and aecnnded by J.A.Conrad that rules bewaived,and
ordinance be read by title only. Motion carried. The ordinance was read by title only.
Mr. Duffy requested permission to put in a cess pool on his lot as there
were no sewer connections on his atreet.Council discussed the proposition for so,,:e time
but did not reach tiny conclusion as to whether cess pools would be prohibitdd or not -
Captain Watson addressed councilin reference to three sewer liens that the city held
again:;t his property,and which he thought were unjust,and unfair to him. As there were
three laterals installed where only one was necessary,and the other two were prac-
tically no use for him.
Moved by C.Hefty and seconded by I;. C.Romfh that the clerk be notified to
colect the full amouht and to notify Captain Watson that the cost of two laterals willb
be refunded by council. Motion carried.
Councilman Conrad recommended that a sewer be established on Avenue G.
Frorp the manhole a, Third and G,approximately 150 feet north.
Proved by E.C.Romfn and seconded by J.A.McDonald that that bids be ad-
vertised for the construction of a sewer on Avenue G as per recommendation of Council-
man Conrad,and that the engineer be instructed to prepare profile and specifications
for same. Motion carried.
Councilman Conrad brought to the attention of council the condition of
the hydrant et the corner of Avenue D and 13th St. the same being broken.
Moved by J.A.'dcDoneld and seconded by E.C.Romfh that the committeeman on
etreets be instructed to have a new hydrant installed there at once. Motion carried.
Committeeman Hefty brought to the attention of council the condition of
the cemetery,and asked that a fence be put aro.nd it.
Moved by ..A.McDonald end seconded by R.C.Romfh that the committeeman be
requested to investigate and get the price for a fence aro and the cemetery and report);
the same to council. Motion carried.
Committeeman Tiefty also reported to council that the old part of the cemetery
was about used up,nearly all the lots being sold,anci that it was necessary that the
new part should be cleared and platted for use.
Moved by ti.A.Conrad and seconded by J.A.McDonald,that the committeeman on
Sanitation be authorized to furnish the sextion with sufficient help to clean up
the cemetery. Motion carried.
The clerk brought to the attention of council that the deed for the land
donated by Mr. Collins on the beach,had been recorded.
The chair in tructed the clerk to file the deed with the Auditor.
The chair ordered an adjourned meeting till Thursday,March 13th,1913.
