SECTIONS 304, 305, 306,307, 308, 309, 310 and 311 of the CODE OF :NI CITY OF MIAMI.
Be it ordainced by the city council of the city of Miami.
Section 1. Tha the position of cemetery Superintendent of the city of
Miami be and the same is hereby abolished, and the position of Cemetery Sexton of the
eity of Miami be and the sane is hereby crested.
Section 304. There shall he h Cemetery Seaton of the city of Miemi,whose
duty it shell be to take charge of the cemetery, to locate burial lots, and direct the
placing of bodies on same, and to do end perform all other dciti a required by him by
ordinance of the city or by resolution of the City Council. The salary of such Cemetey
Sexton shall be Eighty dollars per month, payable monthly by the city of Miami,
Section 305. The Mayor and Clerk of the city of Miami are hereby author
ized to make deeds to lots in the city cemetery at sueh titles ae may be required by pit
purchasers atsuch price or prices ie may be or may have been fixed by resolution or
ordnanc, of the City Council, provided,however, that such deeds shall be countersigned
by the City Auditor of the city of Miami, end provided there ehell be inserted in all
deed hereafter made under the provisionsof this section, a clause stating that bPforee
grantee can :ell or dispose of any It , or lots so needed by the city, said grantee ahl
shall give written notice to the city Council of his or her intention so to do, and b
the city Council shell have the right at any time within thirty days after the receipt
of such ritten notice eo purchase eaid lot or lote from 9uen party, paying therefor
the origins purchase price paid to the city by such p rson for said let or lots, to-
gether with interest thereon at the .ate of eig t per cent per Annum from tne date
of tl e deed from the city t- the grantee, to the late of sack re -purchase by the city
in which event the said party sell deed the said lot or lots to tne city, the said
ale .se to be made a condition o ' the purchase _'rem the city, and the acceptance of e d

es "The Cemetery of the City of '.itami," and it is hereby made the duty of the City
Council • to have eeid lend, or as much of same es it nay deem necessary And proper, cur
veyed and subdivided intto lots and blocks of such sieas and proposrtions as it hey
deedr.L proper tnd to cause to be made a map on a scale of not less than twenty five f t
feet to the inch, showing such subdivision, with Cate lot erns block properly numbered,
It shell also cause to be made two true copies of raid map and the city council shall
file the original_ with tr .o Clerk of the Circuit Court in and for Dade County„Florida,
and one of said codes shall be kept in the custody of the Clerk of the City of Miami
and his successors in office, and the other sha!1 be kept by the Cemetery sexton and
his succeeeo: s in office.
Section 307 . As soon as practicable after the survey and raps eentioned
in preceding section are made it shall be the duty of the City Council to grade and
fix the prices of ell lots contain d in said cemetery, and it shall furnish the Cemetey
Sexton and the City Clerk with a list of the prices so fixed, and the City Council
shell revise the prices of all unsold lots in the city cemetery at least once every
three years, end whenever such revision is made shall furnish the Sextion of said Cem-
etery and the City Clerk with e reused list of prices; provided that the price of•a
full lot in said cemetery shell in no ease be fixed at less than five dollars. But
the City Council shall authorize said Cemetery Sextion to sell a half lot et half the
price the whole lot is fixed; and shall also authorize said Sexton to sell space for e
single grave, but in meing sales of space for e single g:•ave it shall be his duty to
confine such r ales to such localities as may be designated by the. City Council. Two
separate eections or districts in said cemetery, each comprising not less than one hai
sere in area, exclusive of roads and pathways, shall be dedicated to the p oor and
such seetions shell be shown, labelled and designated on themap of said cemetery as
"Free Section Number One" and "Free Section Number Two" and whenever the nearest rel-
ative or represenLative of any deceased p 'rson desires to have t!ie eorpee of sueh de-
ceased interred in said cemetery, and shall make affidavit to the LCemeter;/ Sexton orb
to the City Clerk, tnet the estate of the deceased is insufficient, or that his or her
relatives are unable to purchase end pay for a lot in said cemetery, then spaee for
the burial of such corpse shall be allotted in one of said freeseetions by the Sexton
of :aid cemetery; and in case the corpse be that of a white prson, it snail be in-
terred in "Free Section Number One" and if the corpse be thatof a colored person,it
enall be accorded space and interred in "Free Section Number Two." All strangers with-
out funds, tramps, poupers, etc. who may die in the city, snail he accorded space for
burial in one or the other of said free sections according to their color.
It shall be unlawful hereafter for any person or persons to bury ts,e ded

City of Miami governing plumbing,regulating the plumping trade, house drainage,
sewerage,and inspection of same in public and private property,end ouildings in
the City of Miami, cresting the office o1' inspector of pliimbing,and the beard of
Plumbing Commissioners, and provining penalty 'or i:,a vilation ,be given its around
