P.M.Rand, Jr. in reference to a bill that had been presented him for use of the street roller in Edgewater. Mr. Rand th inks it an unjust bill and quotes as follows: " that although the man was working for four days, he seldomwent to work ntil after 9 A.V. and often quit early in the afternoons,and that the whole work could have been done in two days. I do not feel that the bill is a just one and would ask you to make such inveetigtions as are nee essary. Moved by M.J.McDonald and seconded by E.F.FIolmes that the communication be received and committeeman on streets be instructed to investigate reports of council. Motion carried. Moved by .}.A.Cunrad and seconded by E.F.!iolmes that the profile submitted by the city engineer, showing the proposed method of construction of 20th street, from Brikkell Avenue to the Bay pertaining to side walks,gradea,etc, showing the street part on either side,the ',loth of 15 feet, and a center park way of 20 feet,and show- ing a five foot, six inch, side walk abutting the property and a four foot greats pit plot and i inch curb be approved,and adopted. ?.lotion carried. Rodrnon Smith has tendered his resignation, and, Whereas, at the request of Mayor Smith, and ''or the reason assigned, this council has accepted said resignation, Now therefore, be it Resolved, that this count 1 deeply regrets the necessity for such resig- nation and the cause leading to it; that this council ex ends to Mayor Smith its thanks end appreciation for his co-operation and uniform courtesy in all official matters; it is the sense of this body that by his resignation tee people of Miami lose the cervices of an honest, upright, industrious and efficient official; that the council extends to Mayor Smith and his family its sypmathy and earnestly hopes for. hi:. :speedy restoration to health.
