Regular meeting called to order by the chairman. Members present: ;.Hefty,
F.F.Holmes, M.J.McDonald, J.A.Conrad,J.R.Lummua and F.G.Frfert.
Mr. Derough presenting ;he Me quire Incinerator plant, addressed council in
reference to establishing an incinerator ,after the matter was thoroughly discussed
the following motion was made: moved by J. F,. Lunnnnis, seconded by F. F.Iio1x' es that the
authority of Mr. GDerough for executing contracts as submitted to council, be copied
in ..he minutes. Motion carried.

Moved by J.F..Lummus that a ontract be entered into with the Wm. H.McGuire
for the installation of the incinerator plant,said plant to cost 42500 complete,
and ti be paid for by the City when installed add accepted by the city,and be it fur
ther resolved that the proper officers of the city be, andthe,y are hereby authorized
and directed, to execu',e the contract on behalf of the c_:ty. Motion carried.

structed to reduce the police force six men at the c.ose of busihess on the 30tt
day of Apri1,1912. Motion carried.
A communication from Furst- Clark Construction Co in reference to bills
of L.h.Boyd lighter damaging 12tn. Street bridge,and a bill of Captain Large for same
amounting to $47.60 for repairs. The Furst Clark Constru tion Co. claiming that
the a ount of the bill is excessive,nnd should not be more than one tenth of the
amount charged. Mr. Boyd also claimed that the damage was slight and the bill was
out of all reason,and that it was not is fault as the bridge tender would not open
the bridge. ''r. Moore,the bridge tender, claimed t at Boyd 'Lad plenty of room to go
under the bridge. After a long discussion,following motion was made:

A conmunication was then read rom 1)r. J.N.Macfronigle,a idre: sed to Chairman

May l4tn. and will comprise about 250 members,and urged council to provide .,ome
means for their entertainment while here.

I, herewith, hand you the City's files a copy of the correspondence per
taining to the claim of the city against the Fort Da! las National Bank Receivership.
The original of this correspndence was loaned me by Hr. Shutte and with his per-
mission I lave had t copied for the information of the Council and under all the
eirctunstancrs ih the case I recommend that the City Council authorize and direct
the City attorney to withdraw the suit and accept settlement on thebaiis of the
eity agreeing to betreated as an ordinary depositor and accept the dividends now
due and yet to be paid by the Receiver.

to fowls, be and the Game is }hereby amended so as to read as follows:
Section 358. That from and after the adoption of this ordinance, its approval and
publication as required by law, it shall be unlawful for any person, firm or corpora
tion owning or controlling any chicken, goose, tukey, duck, guinea, pea fowl,
pigeon or dove or other domestic or domesticated fowl, to permit or allow the same
to run •t large in the City of Miaiui,Floridn, and it shall be the duty of tree
police to shoot, capture and destroy any pigeon or dove found at large in the cor-

Sec. 1. That every stationery steam boiler and gas engine plant within
th city limits of Miemi,tor,ether with their settings and safety appliances, shallbe
inspected at least once and notmore than twice per annum, and have power to order tie
the owner or his agents to navethem -epaied or reset, if found in an nnsafe conditia
and a menace to life and property.

See.'2. That for each boiler or as engine plant inspected a fee of Two
Dollars shall beassessed against the owner thereof, or his agen, which fee shall be
eollestd by the Examiner ancihanded in monthly to the City Council, together with his
report. The City Examiner sheti issue a certificate of inspection for 'gash boiler er
gas engine plant defining its condition, and in the case of a boiler s:all define the
maximum steam pressure that may safely be carried.
Sec. 7. ThRt a eaapetent stationery engin er shall be Appointed by the
Mayor, subject to the approval of the City Council, to the office of Examiner of
Stationery Steam er Gas En ;ineers and Examiner of Steam Boilers and Gas Engine
Plants who shall be a resident of the City of Mia i, or who .olds a position of
stationery steam or gas engineer witnin the city limits, and the said city shall
furnish the city boiler examiner with a boiler test pump and gunge.
Sec. 4. The examiner of engineers may hold examinations of applicants
for license in Rny convenient part of the city, and stationery steam and gas eng;inres
who shell operate e steam boiler or steam orgas engine within the city limits shall
be examined by the city examiner of engineers es to his qualifications and fitness
to assume such responsibilities, and none other than engineers licensers by the city
shall operate a steam orgas engine or steam boiler within the city limits.
Sec. r-). That each stationery engineer upon being declared competent to
operate steam boilers and steam engines and gas plants shell pay a fee of Two Dell-
ars for which he shall receive a stationery engineer's license entitling him to
operate as station-ry engineer in the ci'y for one year, renewals of license to be
without further examination, but a fee of One dollar for each yearly re -issue o.
license shall be charged. These fees shall be collected by the city examiner and
turned in with his report monthly to the City council.
Sec. 6. That applicantsfor examinr•tien as stationery engineer shall rave
had one years' experience handling steam or -e plants, and an engineer who shall
fail to pass said examination shall rnvehis fee returned to him and shall not again
apply forexamination and license within three calendar months.
Sec. 7. Engineers licenses shall be of First, Second, and Third classes.
A Third class license shall be for boilers and engines or gas engine plants of 30
zr.p. or under. A aSeoand class license shall be for those of over 30 H.P. to 300 .P
and a nest class license shall be for theseover 300 H.P. The holder of a first,
second or third class•, license shall be qualified to be in chrge of steam plants orgas
engine plants of. the ".P. represented by his license, or may act as Assi:tant Engines
of steam or gas engine plants of double the Horse Power rating of his license. The
grading of applicantafor license shall be in the discretion of the City Examiner wh o
shall consider the age, experience and ability of the applicant.
Sec. t'R. No sp--cial licenses shall he issued
Sec. 9. Engineer's licenses shall be hung in their engine rooms, and boiler
certificates of inspection shall be hung in the boiler room.
Sec. 10. That the compen ation of the City examiner of boilers and gas
engines plants shall be one half of the fees collected by him, the city to furnish
the necessary printed licensee and certificates and other stationary as may be
needed.
See. 11. That this ordinance shall not apply to the operation of gas
engine plants Or their operators if said engines are of 20 ?i.P or under.
Sec.12. That any p`rson convicted of violating any provision of this or-
dinance shall be punished by a fine of not exceeding ten dollars for each offense
or by imprisonment not exceeding five days.
