Mr. ".G.Houser addressed council recrenending that the line be run 660 feet ni north of the Bravo road. 'fir. Edwin Nelson addressed council in reference to the above and suggested that the city aoquire a 35 acre tract of land that can now be bought for 040,000 on the bay front for a park, as an inducement to bring the people into the city. Mr. Gates supported Mr. ()users amendment. Mr. Worrell addressed council in reference to the original resolution. Council was also add eased by Mr. J.A.h(c Donald, Mr. Howell and several others, along the sage line. After a long and earnest discussion, partiioipated in by many present, the followingresolution was adopted: Moved by J.E.LumMits and seconded by C.7efty, that the resolutions be received and spread on the minutes, and that further action be deferred until the oommittee r.k makes further investigation as to the matter, and make report to this council witrk th their recommendations. M.J.McDonald, Committeeman on Sanitation addressed Council in reference to the unsanitary condition of'thecity dump ground, advising that something will have to be done to improve the same, also explaining the circumetancss in connection with the complaint of Dr. Cole. a et Reportsof the various officers were read . Moved by J.E.Lummus and seconded by J.A.Conrad, that reports of all officers be accepted and filed. Councilman McDonald addressed council in reference to the purchasng of drugs and other upplies for the City hospital, advising that as they were now purchased, the prices are higher than they wvuld be at wh lassie. The following motion was made: Moved by C.Hefty and seconded by J.A.Conrad that the Superinten ant of the Hospital be eapowered to buy any supplies needed for to City hospital in the cheapest mannef poss ibis. Committeeman Holmee addressed the council in refe enoe to uniforms for the Fire Department, and also in reference to the horse traeferred from the Fire departmet to the Police Department, that the sum of $200 be paid the Fire Department for said hp horse, to be used on necessary repairs. Moved by J.E.Lummus and seconded by C. Hefty that the committeeman on fire protection be instructed to make any necessary repairs at the fire station. Carried. Moved by J.E.Lummus and seconded by C.W.Hill that committeeman on fire proteh tion be instructed to purchase eight uniforms for the men in each department. Motion cacr ied. A communication was read regarding the claims of the Miami Water Co. againsth the City for taxes alleged to have been wrongfully paid by said Company to said City.
