Regulnr meeting of the City Council called to order by President J.I.Wileon,in tb
chair.
Members present J.i.Wilson,J.E.Lummus,m.N.Gautier,L.(lranger,C.J.Roee,W.B.Moore
end J.J.Holly.
A Petition:
We,the undersigned,esk the Hon.City Council to pass en ordinance for every hack-
man or wagon driver,for hire to pay a license of Two Dollars par year,the said driver
of hacks or public drays must be a citizen o'' the United States of America; and must
give a bond of Fifty Dollars. The Bondsmen must be responsible for all damage done by
the haek or wagon driver,for which he is bondsman.
Also ell drivers of Automobiles for hire must pay a lie nse of Five Dollars per
,year; and must give a bond of Two Hundred and Fift, dollars,Bondemen roust be responsi-
ble for all damage done by said driver of said car: Also the Chief of Police must be
instructed to examine all hacks and automobiles for hire,in regard to sanitary condi-
tions and safety.
All hocks end automobiles must be provided with a complete set of curtains and
:•turm aprons.
Automobiles end all kind of vehicles must keep to t'e right and not turn,only at
corners.

filed; and that the City Attorney be instructed to prepar and au,mit to Council an
amendment to the present City Ordinance governing vehicles etc,on tfle streot,with ref-
erence to the matters as suggested in the above petition: Motion carried.

"J"Riverside,respectfully request the location of a Street Light,to be placed at the

placed on Ninth Street between Avenue "0" and Avenue "D" and One light on Eleventh

given its third and final reeding and be read in full: Motion carried.

AN ORDINANCE of the City Council of the City of Miami,preecribing the width of
park-ways,drive-ways and Bide-wealke,on parts of Brickell Avenue and Broadway,of the
City of Miami: Prescribing the material of which the Bide -walks in aeid district.ehalti
be constructed: And fixing i penalty for the violation hereof.
E IT ORDAINED by the City Council o" tne City of Miami:
SECTION 1:
That from and after the passage of this ordinence;and its publiei+tion as
required by law,park-ways,drive-ways and side -walks on Brickell Avenue 'ind Broadway,
from the intersection of 24th,Street and Brickell Avenue,South on said Brickell Ave-
nue to the City limite; and f•om th, intersection of Brickell Avenue and Broadway,
easterly to Biscayne Bay: Park-ways,drivs-ways and side -walks shall conform to the
following; epecificetione,to-wit:
In the center of said avenue and Broadway,wit in tine limits defined,there :hell
be mainteined,between blocks,park-ways Twenty Five feet in width; Between the side-
wnik and property line,and contiguous to said line,there shall be park -ways along
blocks,one foot in width:Side-walks shall be one Poor from the property line and
shall he six and one half feet in width: Oneach side of the park -way in the center,
there shall be a drive -way Twenty Five feet in width:: Between the aids -walk and the
drive-weye,thsre shall be a park -way or tree -space of five feet in width: And on the
line between Laid drive -ways and said tree-spacee,the side -walk eurb tins shell be
fixed: All of which specifications ere according to;and sub, act to the details of a

be punished by fine,not exceeding One Hundred Dollars,or by imprisonient,not exceed-
ing thirty days.
