Members present J.T.Nilson,J.E.Lummus,T.N.Gautier,L.Granger,W.B.uoore,C.J.Rose and J.J.Holly. Council addressed by A.J.Kolb,Superentenda t of the City Cemetary,asking that t'e surplus of funds derived from the sA -ref ,,emetary Lots,over salary and commissions of the 8uperkntendent be appropriated for the use of the Cemetery association. 'loved by J.E.Lununus and seconded by T.N.Gautier teat a warrant be drawn in favor of the Cemetery Asaosintion equal to the boanee in the Cemetery fund or account,to the surplus over the salary and commissions of the Cemetery Superentendent: Motion carried. J.C.Tueker Esq.,Superentendent of the. 4treet Dersrtm:nt of the City,addressed the ou ell with reference to increase of pay of the day laborers and foreman of the Stre t Departs.,-nt'atating that he wee unable to keep laborers on the City worke at the present pay of t1.25 per day,wnen all others were paying $1.50 and up:-ard,al:o asked that the foremen be given an inerease of 25 eents per day,making hie salary, $2.25 per day. Moved by J.F.Lum us and seconded by C.J.Rose that the Superintendent of Streets be authorized to pay t!le day laborers of his department t1.50 per day and the Foremen M2.25 per day: Motion earried. Moved by J.F.Lumnus and < eonded by "'.N.Gautier that the suai of t5G0.00 be ap- propriated for advertising purposea,same to he dispursed under the direction o the City Council: Lotion carried.
