Regular meeting of the City council called to order by President J.I.Wilson in
the chair:
Member:, present J.I.1Yilson,J.E.Lummus,T.N.(:autier,L.(:rangerpW.B.Moore,J.J.Holly
and C.J.Roae.
The reading of the minutes of regular meeting held on Apri1,218t,1910 was defered,
A Communication under date of May,4th,1910 from A.A.Isbel representing the United
Wireleav Telegraph Company relative to certain concessions under which Nis company
would consider the eetabliehment of a station in this city was read;
Moved by J.E.Lumnuus and aeoonded by J.J.Holly that the communication from Mr.A.
A.Iabel be received and placed on file and that the Clerk be instructed to write Mr.
Iabel that the City would be very glad to render assistance toward the establishing of
a wireless telegraph station in the city: And would be willing to provide a suitable
location for the establishing of their system in the form of a lease for a nominal
rental: Motion carried.
Moved by J.1.Lummue and seconded by J.J.Holly that the bill of H.E.Hendricks,for
turning work done for the Fire Department, now some time past due be paid: Motion car-
ried.

Gentlemen; -
We respectfully ask permission to lay and operate a push car or a tram
track,with light steel rails across Sixth Street, to connect Lot 16 in Block 58 North,
and Lot 5 in Block 63 North.
We would of course expect to put in and maintain this track in keeping with the
requirements of your Street Superentendent; or any officer acting under your instruc-
tions.

oe granted, conditional to the street being kept in good repair at said crossing; same
to be subject to removal at any time by order of the City Council: Motion carried.
Moved by J.E.Lummus end seconded by J.J.Holly that the committeeman on Fire Pro-
tection be authorized to purchase the necessary insulated wire cable for the laying of
the City's Fire Alarm System through the Telephone Company's oonduits to be layed on
Twelth Street: Motion carried.
Mr.H.E.Hendricks as a Committee representing the residents and property owners
on Fourth Street between Avenue "D" and the F.E.C.R'y.'ight of Way,addressed the Counc
it requesting that the said Fourtn Street be opened across the tracks of the F.E.C.R'y
Company,sighting the fact that this street was paved up to the right of way on both
aides and if opened would one of the most used thoroughfares of the City,it being a co-
ntinuatuin of the main paved road entering the City from the Alapate section and all poi
nts West of the City and North of the 41ami River.
Moved by J.J.Holly and seconded by T.N.Gautier that the City clerk be ins.ructed
to write ':Sr.E.Ben Carter,Superentendent of Maintainence of Way of the F.E.C.R'y.60.,
and request that Vie said Fourth Street be opened across tine tracks end right of way
of the said company at ae, early date BB possible: Motion carried.
The following bids for the paving of Second Street between Avenue "C" and Biscayne
Drive were read:

Moved by J.F.Lummsis end seconded by T.N.Geutier that the bid of R.B.Nickle for
the Paving and Grading Second Street between Avenue "C" and Biscayne Drive, in the slim
of Eight Hundred and Sixty Five Dollars be accepted; and that he be awarded the con
tract for same: Motion carried.

A communication under date of May,4th,1910 and signed by T.W.Mather,President of
the Oranglade Aesocihtion, making further inquiry and pointing out the urgent neces-
ity of the building of a road connecting Twelth Street with Twentieth Street West of
the Miami River was read.
Moved by J.J.Holly and seconded by ".N.Gautier that the above refered to commu-
nication be received and filed and the Clerk be directed to write the Association that
the City will be glad to take the matter up, as soon as the City is in funds with
which such improvements can be made: Motion carried.
A communication under date of May,5th,1910 and signed by C.M.Denham calling the
attention of Council to the former petitions+ and requests for the laying of a :ewer
and the Grading and Paving of 14th,Street between Avenue "G" and North River Street
was read.
Moved by J.F.Lummus and seconded by J.J.Holly that the communication from C.M.
Denham Esq., be received and tnat the City Council will consider the improvemente as
soon ae possible: Motion carried.

The Finance Committeeman reported progress im ner:otiations for the purchase of
some of the City's Bonds for the Sinking Fund.
Moved by J.J.Holly and seconded by C.J.Rose that warrants be drawn in payment of
interest on the defered contracts due by the City to the Gamewell Fire Alarm Telegraph
Company, The American LeFranoe Fire Engine Company and the ,:'odel land Company: Motion
carried.
